super pleased with this saddle bag for the price! i fit my sleeping bag & tent in it, and the exterior tent poles pocket is so thoughtful. it kept everything dry in light rain & it felt super secure on my saddle — no wiggling, squeaking, or rattling. very stoked overall!
I purchased this saddle bag to go on a three night trip in France and along with my handlebar roadrunner bag and my small backpack, I had no trouble carrying all of my clothing and other necessities for the duration of the trip, without making my bike too heavy or unwieldy. The saddlebag works well, although I’m not sure it can hold a full 9 L as advertised. It definitely can hold some semi heavy items, although I didn’t try attaching or carrying my non-bike shoes in the bag. The sales people at the Berkeley REI were extremely helpful in showing me how to set it up and packet efficiently.
Great on concept but less great in practice. It’s got plenty of storage and holds up in light rain. But regardless of how tight I try to get the straps it still slides down the seat post and ends up rubbing the back tire. On a long ride it gets really tedious to have to stop to readjust after only a few miles. Particularly difficult on gravel due to slightly rougher ride. I’m not totally giving up on it but you should know that going in.
Flimsy material and fraying edges. This barely lasted 2 weeks on the road with normal wear and tear. Do not trust.
Great pack for a limited payload. Easy to install/remove. Good size for light loads.
