Best Ski Crampon on the market today
I reviewed these crampons and absolutely loved them! I previously used the prior model of CAMP Nanotechs for ski mountaineering and Grivel G-12’s as my all steel option for when I was expecting to beat up my crampons. The new Peak 12 Nanotechs have 4 steel front points rather than just the 2 on the prior model which has made them great for all around use. Now I only get out my steel crampons if I know I am REALLY going to beat them up on an objective. Since they are super lightweight that just means I cut down my base weight for the majority of missions which is a huge win! The Peak 12 Nanotechs are also insanely feature rich. They now come with the semi- auto front bail included which means you can modify them for all of your spring/ summer objectives where you need a lightweight crampon to adapt to a 3 season boot to approach alpine climbs. I haven’t tried it yet, but you can probably rig them to fit on approach shoes if you really had to or just buy the semi auto rear bails. The center bar also flips to better fit ski boots or climbing boots depending on your needs. Anyways, these crampons rock! They are super versatile, insanely lightweight, and very tough. If you were looking for a great ski mountaineering crampon or something to upgrade to look no further
