Altra  Voyager Shoes - Women's

I wanted to love these shoes. I love the way they look and have several other altra’s but these were really tight in the mid foot. I don’t have a wide foot either. I tried to wear them several times hoping they would break in but it just became painful. I’m sad I had to return them.

Great shoe, wanted to love it but the toe box is very narrow. I tried in around my house and it was painful, putting a lot of pressure on my foot.

They are super comfortable. I love the wide toe box and ease to put on. They are my quick everyday wear shoe!

Perfect fit! Comfortable all-day every day wear right out of the box. Previously, I had to rotate through several different styles of shoes because they would become uncomfortable if I wore them for more than a day. This is the only pair I can wear in total comfort all day every day. I have narrow heels and a forefoot that is just a tad wide. These fit perfectly with no slippage. I love that these are slip-ons with no laces to deal with. Just slip on and go!

The elastic cut off circulation in my feet. The elastic laces cannot keep tight where needed and loose where needed. It keeps a uniform tension atop the foot which either caused my heel to slip or my toes to lose circulation. I put in regular laces but they still irritated my neuroma. My guess is that squeezing through the narrow part to get to the wide toe box compresses the nerve. I can’t think of another reason unless my pair was mis-manufactured. I’ve had other altras that have been comfortable. I regret buying this pair.

I really wanted to like these shoes, and I did not like them at all. I have been an avid Altra wearer for years, ever since the company first began. I typically wear Escalante 4s but wanted to try these to get a little more cushion for very long walks on concrete. First, I do not like the "standard footshape" that Altra has used on these. It is narrower in the toe box and also has less height in the toe box than the "original footshape" which the Escalante has. To me that means not enough room for good toe splay and comfort. Second, the midfoot is a bit snug and due to the strange lacing system, there is no way to custom adapt the laces to get a better fit. This shoe is a total fail for me. The "standard" footshape is a total fail for me. Please provide more shoes in the "original" footshape which has always been fantastic.

The shoes were comfortable and the fit felt good when walking. After 3 months, the inner heal of both shoes was worn out. (See another review for the same issue and they provided a picture. ) I submitted the shoes for a warranty refund. They said the cause was heel slippage due to my negligence and warranty was void. My heel didn't feel like it was slipping. I have other Altra shoes without heel slippage. Disappointing!

Bought these as my go-to shoes for a trip to Japan and spent 10 days walking in them almost exclusively. The slip on style was perfect, as I needed to be able to take them off to enter certain places on my trip. The amount of cushion is just right, the roomy toebox is perfect but still looks pretty chic for daily wear. They did take a couple days to break in before the trip but after that they were great. No blisters or anything. My only concern is that the elastic laces may wear out at some point but so far they're doing fine. Also these are definitely WALKING ONLY shoes - which to be clear I knew from the start but I had to run to catch a train and I was slip-sliding around and definitely banged up my big toe a bit. So if you feel like you might need to hustle in them occasionally, these are not the shoes for you. I however will be buying a second pair to keep as a backup ASAP.

I love the look, the elastic is different but this does fits narrower across the widest part of the foot. Too much time, or a 28 mile ride and my foot was literally burning. I have never experienced that before. I looked it up and it has a STANDARD FIT, and I guess I never looked at my Timp, Libe Peak, Escalante and others. I regret this purchase.

I love these! I worked a 12 hour shift the first time I wore these shoes and I have to say…zero foot pain, zero leg and lower back pain. I was fully prepared to buy another pair, but the colors. The turquoise are fire! The rest of the colors are boring. Bring back bold!
