Hyperice X2 Shoulder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an opportunity to test the new Hyperice X2 Shoulder and was blown away. With having previous shoulder injuries due to many seasons of baseball, I wanted to see just what this new product could do. With five different levels of heat, cold, and compression settings, it was easy to tailor to the exact treatment my shoulder needed. But the best part is that it is completely portable and requires no ice or water, making it perfect for while you are on the go. While I wish I had something like this during my previous baseball career, I know I will be using it now for recovery from future workouts and any flair ups that might come from my previous injuries. Thanks to Hyperice for giving me this free product to try.

Hyperice X2 Shoulder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has helped relieve lots of the pain and soreness I get after working out. I am recovering from a labral tear so the heat works wonders for aiding circulation, while the cool setting feels great after PT sessions that leave my shoulder burning. The one thing I’ve noticed is that the app doesn’t seem very compatible with the Hyperice Shoulder. There are options to connect to the knee one, but not the shoulder. I can control it from the device, but I’m sure the app would be more convenient. Overall I really like this and will continue to use it regularly during and after my shoulder recovery. Hyperice gave me this free product to try.

Maybe it’s my shoulder?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a great idea. Ideally I wish it worked better than it did.. for me. One of the fans sits right on my shoulder bone making it sit funky and not fully able to get the relief needed. In theory, great product but I’d make sure to try it first to make sure it fits right. I’ve tried it a couple times and let a friend borrow it. We both didn’t get the relief we were hoping for. I’ll continue to adjust it and see if I can find the sweet spot to get ice heat and compression. Hyperice gave me this product to try for free

Great product to improve recovery and maintain consistent training.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have loved using the Hyperice X2 Shoulder. The contrast therapy is fantastic and got surprising cool and hot considering the size. The cooling fans are a little loud, but just end being white noise and it’s nearly silent during heating. There is also contrasting pressure, but for me, that didn’t seem to really “massage” as much as I had hoped. I have been having rotator cuff issues for a while and had made it difficult to stay consistent in the gym. This has made my life much easier and improved that injury.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this while training for a triathlon, both after swimming and after cycling. I especially noticed help in my left shoulder that I had shoulder surgery 10 years ago, though I found benefit in both. The hot and cold both work well. I definitely feel the cold a bit more than the heat. It will be great when the app is updated so the x2 can sync and it can be on a longer cycle instead of the shorter 10 minute manual setting. The "compression" feels like it is more to keep in temperature/keep it stable, it does not give any sort of compression like the Normatec equipment. Maybe if you were a body builder it would be different. I got to test pre and post injury. It does fit over a cast, although it takes a partner to put it on for me at this stage of recovery. It definitely helps my shoulder when I wake up now.

Best thing since sliced bread

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a perfect product for anyone experiencing chronic shoulder pain. I have been using it nightly on workout days and my shoulder feels better than ever. Both the hot and cold settings work extremely well and feel amazing, the compression really adds to the experience. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hyperice gave me this product free to try! X2 Shoulder so far for me has been good to test. I have a shoulder injury that I’m dealing with. After I workout I immediately throw on the X2 and I start a contrasting 20min session. I wish the cold would be colder but the heat is great! Almost too hot for me but I’m glad it’s adjustable. The compression I don’t feel has done to much. I wish the lower strap for the arm was larger. I have to have it as far out as possible and then it fits well. A little more space would be nice. The battery life on the x2 I think is great! I got plenty of sessions on one full charge. The buzz of the machine specifically while the cold sessions are going are not intrusive. It took a couple sessions to get used to it but ultimately it isn’t horribly loud. I would equate it to an oscillating fan. Often times I also take the X2 to work with me and I can use it while I’m sitting at my desk. My coworkers haven’t complained about the noise. One random thing is that it takes a bit to get used to the added width! Watch out for doorways!

Review: Hyperice X 2 Contrast Shoulder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Packaging & Build Quality Straight out of the box, the Hyperice X Contrast Shoulder impresses with a design that wouldn’t feel out of place next to a MacBook Pro—sleek, minimal, and undeniably premium. Everything from the case to the materials screams high-end. Fit The device is fairly large, and I struggled to get a truly comfortable fit. Most notably, the front heating/cooling element had trouble making consistent contact with my skin, which impacted the overall experience. For reference, I am 5'8" and 145 lbs. Performance The hot/cold contrast therapy is powerful and fast—genuinely impressive tech. But the performance is somewhat compromised by the bulk and inconsistent fit. It’s hard to fully appreciate the benefits if key areas aren't properly engaged. Despite this, the X 2 Shoulder was excellent to use pre and post workout. As a tennis player who has had some recent shoulder issues, I had great success using heat + compression before a hitting session to make sure my shoulder was fully warmed up. I noticed improved circulation and flexibility before even stepping on the court. Afterwards, I used cold + compression to kickstart my recovery and alleviate any soreness. Functionality The controls are easy to use and understand to dial in the desired temperature, compression, and time. The location of the controls is a bit hard to reach while wearing the device. I believe one of the device’s true strengths lies in its app-driven protocols. During my review, app integration wasn't yet enabled, as this is an unreleased product. Hyperice support was excellent in helping answer my questions. Who Is This For? I would recommend this to serious athletes or recovery-obsessed individuals who want the best tech and don’t mind paying top dollar AND are highly focused-on or have issues with their shoulder. The build quality, performance, and features are in a class of their own and provide a targeted, premium experience for the shoulder. For me, this use case is a bit narrow and if I’m going to invest this much, I’d want a more versatile device that can treat multiple areas. Note: Hyperice gave me this free product to try.
