Beginner Fit: 1/2 size larger than US women's street shoe size. Comfort Fit: same size as US women's street shoe size. All-Around Performance Fit: size down 1/2 size from US women's street shoe size. Aggressive Performance Fit: size down 1.0 size from US women's street shoe size. Tenaya climbing shoes don't stretch much with use - what feels snug initially will stay pretty consistent for the life of the shoe.

I’ve spent years thinking that if a climbing shoe didn't hurt, it wasn't working. These completely proved me wrong. I hit the gym three nights a week and try to get outside on the weekends—and these have quickly become my absolute go-to. I also love the velcro straps for quick on and off and you can really dial in the tension easily. Don’t let the comfort fool you; they aren't "mushy" beginner shoes. They have a moderate downturn that gives you plenty of power for small chips and technical edging, but they’re flat enough that you aren't dying to rip them off the second you finish a pitch. I’ve used them for everything from slabby balance moves to slightly overhanging gym routes, and the Vibram XS Grip rubber feels incredibly secure
I wasn’t too familiar with Tenaya having climbed primarily in Five10 shoes most of my life. The moment I put on the RA women’s shoe, I knew these were special. The fit was exceptional and I had a great day of gym climbing with zero break in. With all of my Five10 experience, this was completely foreign to me. I’m a guy, but the RA women’s shoe fit me really well. It gave me complete control of my feet (foot placement, grip, smearing, etc) with zero discomfort. I found that I didn’t need to take them off in between climbs which was also a new thing for me. All in all I couldn’t recommend these shoes enough for both men and women! Having only used them for a few days, the quality and construction makes me confident that they will last. Couldn’t be happier!
I loved this shoe it fit my narrow feet perfectly. It was comfortable enough to wear for an entire gym session, but still a noticeable step up in performance from the Tantas. If you’re looking for a shoe that can do it all, this is a great choice. Just note that it has a low volume fit, and it fit very true to size for me.
As a beginner climber with a flat foot this shoe was great! Gave great support and was easy to handle on the wall. Overall would recommend this shoe!
I have an extremely flat foot and this is one of the few shoes I love it’s the perfect low volume shoe and is absolutely my go to. Definitely the shoe you need to feel every part of the wall even small crevices. Big upgrade compared to my last shoe I feel like a pro now lol
This shoe is very comfortable without compromising quality or capability. A beginner climber and a higher level climber could both climb In the shoe and have a really awesome experience
Great shoe, super comfortable. After putzing around with a few models of Tenaya at a local gym demo, I found that the Ra W suited my style. I'm a guy and the RA W's felt better than the Ra on my foot. Not incredibly aggressive, but is really comfortable and climbs well. I've climbed on slab, edges, granite, quartzite, and plastic on them. They perform well in most situations. I sized half size down from my street shoe size and they're perfect
I am always skeptical when it comes to switching over to a new shoe. I have climbed in the same 2 styles for over 10+ years. I climb all styles (sport, trad, bouldering), but am most passionate about bouldering. I like a very aggressive and tight fitting shoe so that I know when I put my toe on the tiniest edge it is going to stick. I don't like to switch shoes, because my muscle memory is so dialed in with the shoe/s that I have been wearing for 10+ years. I reluctantly tried these shoes at a demo and was so shocked at how comfortable they were on my feet. With my other shoes, I am constantly opening up the Velcro to let my feet breathe and could not wear them on an all day trad or sport climbing day without "feeling" them after a while. These shoes I could easily wear outside all day climbing and feel no pain. I was worried that this might mean that the performance would not be there, but again I was shocked at how well they performed bouldering in the gym. I hadn't been climbing in a minute, so I was worried with being out of shape and in a new pair of shoes that I would just be a disaster on the wall, but was amazed at how well these performed and at the same time they were so comfortable I wasn't having to fight through any pain in my feet. I would highly recommend these shoes as a perfect all around shoe that performs at the highest level but is still comfortable enough to wear all day! I am a true women's 8 street shoe and wore a women's 8 in these shoes. They fit snug, no lose toes or heel.
