Poor Traction
Bought these at the store as a replacement for an older pair. Tried them on at home and was surprised to find that they slipped on my wooden floor and tile floor. Tried them on wet wood outdoors this morning with the same result. The sliding effect stops when the shoe is fully weighted, but the initial slide is destabilizing. I worry how these will do on wet rocks and wet wooden stairs in a hiking situation. My old ones do not slip at all. I will return these.
Bottom of shoe is slippery.
Pros: comfortable, padded footbed and back strap. Cons: When I wore them at home and walked around the bottom of the shoe is slippery on linoleum and tile. I don't think they are sturdy enough for a hiking sandal great for water, beach and around town. They are okay nothing too remarkable.
Same dependable comfortable sandal
After reading other shoppers' reviews on how the sole is slippery in this new edition, I was hesitant about repurchasing this sandal. There is a fuzzy layer at the bottom of the sole which, when wearing on tile or vinyl floors, does feel slippery. But it is a superficial coating that wears off with just a few minutes of walking outside on pavement. Not sure why the fuzzy layer was added, but it's worn off very quickly, so there is no need to worry. This Teva is still the dependable all-day walking sandal of choice. And this year's new colors are great.
Caused foot and leg pain
I previously owned a pair of Teva Tirra Sandals for three years and loved them; when I needed to replace them I wanted to get the same brand/model. After wearing these for a few hours one day though my feet and legs were hurting so badly I reluctantly decided to return them. I'm not sure what they've changed from the old model (they look a little different) but they no longer work for me. They still look great and I think they're good shoes, they just aren't for me anymore.
Great walking sandals, very comfortable
I love these sandals. I mostly wear sandals in the summer and these are very comfortable. I have worn them the last 3 days since I bought them, around the house and yard and while riding my bike. I ride about 10 miles a day and these are better than wearing tennis shoes. Very stable base and comfortable multi-adjustable straps. Waterproof so they’re good when I hit puddles. I left my last pair of Tevas in Germany when we moved back here and I’ve missed them.
Love These. Just get them :)
I really love these hiking sandals. They're feminine & also offer support. I recently developed plantar fasciitis so I have to get shoes with support! Love these Tirra's. I also have the Teva Slim Universal and they also have arch support. Teva does a great sandal. Lots of straps that adjust as well to accommodate a narrow or wide foot
Love these sandals !
I love these sandals for every day wear and light trails. I have them in five different colors. They last for years ! Very comfortable, great support for all day wear. For backcountry hiking I wear Teva hiking hurricane xlt2 or terra fi 5 sandals. I wear the Tirra to work, day trips, etc. They are great paired with skirts, dresses, shorts, and pants. Reccomend.
Hides bunions & very comfy
Unbelievably comfy! I have foot issues due to bunions. The velcro straps were adjustable & concealed the bunions without any discomfort or rubbing. Wore them on Florida Keys vacation where i did lots of walking. Definitely recommend!
REI is among the best, so come ye
I love these sandals, Teva as a company, and most of all the generous and genuine service at REI. I was told not to expect great service for an older person--moi--but on the contrary they couldn't have been nicer
