I've only had these for a few days, but have put about 15miles on them (city walking) so far and I'm really enjoying them. I have narrow feet but can spread my toes pretty far apart so I appreciate the wide toe box. The first day I wore them it rained heavily and they definitely lived up to their waterproof claim. I should not be allowed to own white things so I got the brightly colored blue and purple pair and I think they look super fun. Will be back to update if anything changes, but so far I would give these a great recommendation. I feel like I have a huge range of sizes of shoes so I'm not sure how to rate the fit, but I did go with a half size which has worked out for me; my experience with previous Keens is that they do end up stretching out a bit with wearing in.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Keen Targhee Apex is a comfortable shoe! One of the first things I noticed is how quiet the outsole and midsole were when walking around the store on carpet and cement. They've since been on a dusty hike and a rainy road-to-trail hike. Nice cushioning, stability, and no dust nor water got inside the shoes. Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off. (Again, no water got inside. ) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.
These are really cute sneaker-like Keens that could cross over to work. There is a generous toe box in the standard shoe, but the heel is so wide that my foot slips out the back and doesn't feel supported at all, despite sizing down a half size. Unfortunately, will have to return.
So far so great. Still breaking them in… seems like a winner
These shoes are as comfortable as sneakers! They don’t look clunky, but they have the support and flexibility that you need for spring or summer hiking!
I got these in preparation for a visit to Yosemite. I’ve put 50 miles on them so far and they are extremely comfortable. I have a wide foot and these are perfect. Roomier toe box. They do not let water in either. Would highly recommend these!
I already own a pair of Targhees, as well as other Keen shoes/sandals, so when I saw this new style that looked like a sneaker, I had to try them. I've always had foot issues, but the Keen original fit just feels so good on my feet. And the support I get with the Apex is absolutely amazing! Loved them from the minute I put them on! I will definitely be ordering an additional pair in another color! Thank you for making a great product and helping our planet!
Love, love, love this shoe. Great right out of the box, no break in time at all. I’ve started upping my miles lately and enjoy the extra room in the toe box. I’ve even requested my family get me another pair for Mother’s Day in another color.
