Rab  Phantom Jacket - Men's

I’ve carried this jacket for the past 4 months along the Continental Divide Trail and can say for the weight of it, it serves its purpose extremely well. It has kept me dry in rains that were persistent for over 2 hours. After 4+ hours of varying precipitation I could not tell if it was letting moisture in or if it was my perspiration on the inside. That said, it is highly breathable compared to a light weight silicone nylon rain jacket. If I was to change/add any features I believe it would be a worthy weight addition to add a second zipper for easier access to things underneath the bottom half and a small pocket to turn the jacket inside out on itself for storage. I found myself putting it in a small stuff sack to keep the material protected when in backpack. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for an ultralight rain jacket regardless the length of the activity.

Had to write this after using the full Phantom system, jacket and pants together, for the first time. They performed amazingly! Running in 5 deg C weather in a miserable drizzle I was perfectly comfortable in just a tshirt and underwear underneath, moisture management was way better than expected as I tend to sweat a lot, but at the end I was slightly damp. Waterproofness was as good as can be expected from such a thin layer, the jacket did not wet out and kept me dry. The hood is also excellent either with or without a brimmed hat, I actually prefer it without the hat for visibility and the slight bendable metal structure in the brim allowed good visibility while still keeping the rain out of my face. The pants kept my legs bone dry but also not sweaty. Really amazing kit and perfect for running in the wet, especially the wet and cold

I love my Phantom. Weighs nothing, breathable and does well in soggy conditions. I wouldn't use this as a workhorse but it works awesome as intended. It lives in my pack and is great for a light warming layer, wind protection and is waterproof.
