Not the same as the Sombra
I thought this would fit similarly to the Sombra Sun Hoodie, which I love. It did not. I am 5'3" and found it felt too snug around my neck while the sleeve long was way too long for me. Unlike the Sombra, the cuffs on this hoodie are quite open, so the only way to deal with the long sleeves would be to roll them up. The length was fine. Not a fan of the string for the hoodie. Please bring back the Sombra!
Strange Fit
I haven’t gotten to test this piece against the sun yet, but the fit is a bit strange. I am often a small in tops, but my shoulders and/or bust can be a limiting factor depending on the fit of a top, and then I’ll size up to a medium. So, I went with a medium and expected to have some breathing room when comparing my measurements to the size chart, and it is still strangely really snug through my chest—in my upper chest area moreso than my bust. I am 5’2” about 128 lbs and my bust measurement ranges from 35.5”-37” throughout my cycle (27” waist, 37.5” hips). The length is good, the waist is *really* comparatively loose on me, so sizing up to a large would likely look very silly. This would work really well for someone with a triangle shape (narrow on top), but other body types may not be psyched about the fit. I think it will work for what I need it for, so I will give it a try, but I am apprehensive about the tightness through the upper chest.
True to Size and Ideal Length
I’m 5’5” and 132 lbs, and the size M fits perfectly. The length is just right, not too long and not too short.
Cute and lightweight
The blue color is lovely, and it’s just what I was looking for to protect my skin on sunny days.
