Versatile and durable.

I have really enjoyed my time with the Wind Veil Hooded Jacket so far. I have used it everywhere from casual in-town jaunts and cycling to climbing on Mt Hood and backpacking in the Columbia River Gorge. It has proved to be a versatile and reliable piece of clothing. It does a great job blocking wind, from a light breeze to heavier mountain winds. There appears to be a DWR coating that keeps out mist and very light rain. It is not a rain jacket by any means but the DWR is a nice touch. When it does get wet, it dries very quickly. It is very light making it an easy choice to bring along. I find that it is more versatile and comfortable than most of the previous wind shells I have owned. I like that it is big enough to layer over a moderate mid layer. It is also thin and light enough to put my puffy on OVER the jacket if needed when belaying. The garment is true to size. At 5'9" and 180lbs I am pretty much a solid medium in shirts and jackets and this fits great, not too loose, not too tight, with enough room to fit over a light mid layer. I do with the arms were just a bit longer. I have long arms and run into this with other clothing as well. The jacket works well as is, but longer sleeves would be better for me. I am sure most people will not have a problem with the sleeve length. The jacket is well made with plenty of attention to detail. The fabric is soft, breathable, quiet, and the jacket drapes nicely. The hood is well designed and I particularly appreciate the brim. The hand warmer pockets are well placed and sized. The chest pocket/storage pouch is a particularly nice touch and is large enough to fit and energy bar or two. The jacket is easy to move in and is comfortable when under a pack. Mobility in the jacket is excellent in all situations. The light soft fabric surprised me as far as durability goes. I had the unintentional opportunity to give it a good test when hiking in the Gorge. There were many blowdowns, brushy sections, and areas where the trail was obscured. I thrashed about under, over, and around logs as well as crashing through brush. The jacket shows no signs of this abuse. It still looks like new, certainly looks better than my body did after the trip! The Wind Veil jacket is a light, durable, versatile wind jacket that I will be taking with me on virtually all my outdoor adventures!

Horrible fit if taller

This is the worst fitting jacket I’ve ever tried on. It’s great if you have baby T-Rex arms. Just very un flattering and the sleeves are way too short. Material seems nice though. Very lightweight. I’m 6 foot tall and a lean 200 pounds. I have an aor index of three. These sleeves are about 2 to 3 inches too short. The torso is very baggy, however

Nice gear

Nice jacket .i bought the yellow one. Big pockets. But they need zip closure...I tend to run fast..Ha I like the hood and the brim is great..if you can add a cord around the face . That be great.
