Pure money/value ration
The chain lasted about 600 miles of MTB trail riding at a solid pace with frequent climbs. I maintained it regularly—cleaned and lubed roughly every 16–20 miles. Despite that, it snapped suddenly while accelerating uphill (not even during a shift), which caused a crash, when I measured a chain length it was worn out. In terms of durability, it’s definitely better than the GX chain, which is outright terrible in that regard. However, for anyone who rides seriously—even at an amateur level and pushes hard—the value for money is disappointing. If you ride around 2.5K miles per season, you’ll likely go through about four chains (~$400 total), and at least one cassette likely two as well, each around another $400. That’s just not a good long-term deal. My next bike will definitely have a Shimano Transmission instead.
