Full disclosure, this is my first ever sleeping pad, so I can’t compare to others. I was looking for a good solution for backpacking with my two 50-pound dogs that would max out our comfort without taking up a ton of space and weight in my pack. The EXPED ultra duo is basically the same weight as a UL wide sleeping pad and a closed cell foam pad, combined, but gives my dogs the comfort and warmth of an inflatable pad. And it gives me more cuddles with the dogs. I throw a camp blanket over it along with a 1/8” foam pad to further protect the dogs’ side, and we are cozy all night. I toss and turn, and had no issues sleeping on my back, side, or stomach.
