Tactix 8 and a phoenix.8 solar modules
I bought a month ago a tactics eight solar and a Phoenix eight solar watch and it’s the best. They are the best watches I’ve ever had. They do everything. I bought it to monitor my health and it works great and I like the extra background you can get for that are full of data Richmond
Worth the Wait!
I have been considering upgrading my old Apple Watch to the Tactix for quite some time, and I'm happy I finally made the switch. I'm happy with all the features and capabilities. Its style, size, and feel are all great. Battery life is unbelievable, coming from a daily charge only to have my old Apple Watch die at 8:00 pm. Very responsive and does everything I expected. The only thing I miss from my Apple Watch is the ability to respond to iMessages. I rarely used the watch for texting because it wasn't the easiest to type on, but if I had to dig up a negative, thats it. And did I mention the battery life, crazy!
Beyond expectations
I have always been a Garmin watch user, and being from the military the Garmin Tactix8 watch brings me back. It's fully functional as an everyday smartwatch with the extra capabilities of standard issue military functions. Overall I love the watch
Great watch
Great watch with tons of features. I have the tactix 8 elite solar and love it!! As a shooter, the ballistics comes in handy and is a great feature.
Met expectations & beyond!
So far, the amount of features such as the marine and safari-like on Tactix 8 solar and the ease to access them is just extraordinary.
Nice but pricey
I switched from Apple Watch the the tactic 8 elite. Disappointed that the applied ballistics that raised the price a lot will not work on my other garmin devices like my 750i unless i buy it again. I think that’s a waist. It would be like buying Microsoft word and only being able to use it on one computer. Also disappointed in the navigation. I see there is suppose to be an update for google maps but i can’t seem to find it. Don’t know if it’s because i have a iPhone. Really like the battery life. Had it for one month now and charged it on e because it got to 30%. I work outside in the sun 10-15 hours a day so they solar in nice. It is also a lot more customizable than my Apple Watch. Time will tell if i start liking it more. So far i like everything but the price.
Love the watch but activities setup
I love the watch but a few areas like the work outs need a easier way to say instead of like end work out then stop workout which should make it save but then you have another step should be like the runs stop/end run then save not an extra step. Because of this I've discarded to many work outs so far. the ballistic calculator works good as long as you have the right equipment to go with. made it easier to sight in at 1000 yards
Good but, Could be better
The Tactix 8 is a overall good watch but, I some complaints on it. First is the buttons, although a small issue, it is a big one at the same time because the buttons feel "spongy" and sometimes not responsive. The touch screen feature helps out alot but, during an activity, the way the buttons are configured this time are subpar to say the least. The responsiveness of past Tactix lines are way better than this. Second, I wish there was more simple watch faces like the previous lines or even a topographic face or background like the fenix 8. Lastly, I wish the flashlight had a red lens instead of a green one. Being in the military, based on my SOPs, I use red lens for all low light activities. I just wish you guys kept the red lens but i understand your reasoning. I just wish there was an opportunity to fully customize the product right from the get go to be beneficial for people in my career field/others as well.
Impressive Exercise System
This watch was purchased after using an Apple Ultra 2 since it was released. I can hardly believe the number of features that the Tactix 8, Solar has over the Ultra 2. The biggest asset to me is the longevity of the battery, to say nothing of how fast it charges when required: I am getting about three weeks on a full charge with news, text, all going to the watch. I am still waiting for some of the features to come alive like endurance, but they warn you there is a time requirement before they kick in. The ECG is very effective and much easier to use. The recognition of a hike or running is impressive. I do not like having to remember to find something on the watch as I step on the treadmill to run an iFit program or to run outdoors. The flashlight is impressive, at least as good as headband led lights I also use for detail tasks. It meshes with the weight scale and the blood pressure monitor, as long as a good WiFi connection exists. I am an impressed user of the Garmin Connect system.
Excellent Watch
I spent a lot of time researching for a good watch to handle the ruggedness of what I do daily. I am very pleased with this watch and its features. I haven't gotten to figure everything out just yet, but so far it has shown to be ideal for dependability and the ruggedness I have been looking for.
