Smartwool  Active Mesh Hoodie - Women's

Thank you Smartwool and Expertvoice for giving me this free product in exchange for my honest feedback. I've been hiking and skiing in the W's active mesh shirt for the past couple weeks. Here are my thoughts!?? This is so comfy, not only does it look nice it's super comfortable. I've been in full sun and it's been getting hot the past week so I've been sweating while hiking. Most shirts will stink but this didn't after a full day of hiking. I could go in to a restaurant and not worry about smelling bad. I never have a fit issues with Smartwool products and this shirt is fit nicely. It's not super tight and I have room. The hood fits great over a cap but I wished it had a ponytail opening but that's not a deal breaker. It's doesn't have SPF but it appears to reflect the sun, I notice that right away and it keeps you cooler in full sun. Is totally breathable and feels great on my skin. It held up well and I had no issues with the fabric pilling. I've used either a hiking pack or ski pack. I've been using it all through the Sierra, Death Valley and White Mountains. It's another awesome shirt. Thank you again Smartwool for this opportunity.

I've worn it out hiking and as a baselayer spring skiing on a warm day and I've been impressed with its comfort. Unlike other layers that offer sun protection, this hoodie doesn't seem to get that same synthetic smell after being out in the sun and sweating while being active in warm temps. The fit was true to size and the material, is a little sheer, but still feels durable. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Nice lightweight hoodie. I usually get way too hot in sun hoodies, but since I have fair skin, it’s important for me to keep covered up. I wore this on a 10 mile hike on a hot day, and stayed nice and cool. When there was a breeze, I even got a little cold (but it was a refreshing feeling ). My only complaint is that it is not rated to have SPF. I mean why else would you wear a sun hoodie unless you were trying to protect your skin from the sun? But I decided to try it without sunscreen, and for the most part it worked. I didn’t notice any obvious tan lines, but my arms did seem maybe a little pinker, but not noticeably.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wore this top camping/hiking for 3 days and it held up great. No odors and the sweat dried off fairly quickly. Was soft and lightweight. Nice cut and fit, wasn’t too tight or loose. As for breathability, I felt the top was a bit warm and didn’t breathe as well as my other athletic tops. Overall, this top was still worth the purchase. Would buy again.

Smart wall has been my company of choice for many years for socks and snow base layers. This active mesh hoodie was not on my radar however it quickly became a staple in my wardrobe, filling a gap that I did not know that I had. The fit is ideal with the arm length being long enough, and the hoodie opening being large enough to comfortably fit my head through yet not so large that's when the hood is up it stays on comfortably without slipping off. I love layering this, and putting a tank top under it and, when needed, a sweatshirt over it so that if I am leaving on an activity all day, I can have appropriate layers. Even when the activity causes perspiration, the odor neutralizing properties of the shirt hold up, even with my natural deodorant! The mash feels very high-quality, and I can foresee myself using this for scuba and snorkeling as well for an extra layer of sun protection that can cover my ears and neck unlike traditional rash guards do. Smart wall has thought of everything!

I was given this shirt and despite already having an REI Sahara sun shirt with a hood which I love, this is my new favorite. It’s really good for very warm days - the mesh is breathable and light. It’s so soft on the skin and is wonderful to wear. The hood is great for the neck and does not add to the heat. Highly recommend!

I have LOVED my ultra lite sun hoodie with just tencel and merino wool for many years now, but this year it has changed to include less merino wool and so much polyester. Why?? The other hoodie was perfect and so lightweight that it was ideal for hot climates for summer backpacking. I wore mine 200 miles on the John Muir trial and it worked beautifully! Kept me from getting sunburned and from being too hot. And it didn’t smell! I really hope you bring it back next season 😭😭😭

I received this Women's Active Mesh hoodie for free in exchange for a product review. I have often used wool for heavy base layers for hunting but this light weight hoodie changed my mind about wearing wool all year long. I hiked in snow, drizzling rain, and mid 50-60 degree temps without any trouble! I was super comfortable with this under a puffy for early morning hikes without having to add several layers, and then this as a stand alone piece was perfect at managing my body temperature, drying quickly if I got damp, being ultra breathable, and never picked up odors! I wore this several hard hikes in a row without washing to really test it, and I was floored at how fresh and clean the fabric remained. This will stay with me as my primary backpacking top to really lighten my pack! I love this Smartwool Active piece! Thanks to Expertvoice and Smartwool for having me collab on this test wear.

This top was excellent while hiking in Turkey. It was breathable and kept the sun off. The temperatures were in the 70s, but the sun was very warm. The breathability made it an excellent hiking item. Also comfortable.
