Brooks  Dash Speed 3" Shorts - Men's

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having been a regular runner for most of my life, I know how difficult it can be to find shorts that are both lightweight and supportive. Well, I have no further to look, because I've found them. These shorts are lightweight and fit very well. I don't know how they get a perfect fit on the waste, but these shorts don't squeeze. You don't even notice they're on. But they also provide just the right amount of support and coverage to make sure you keep it all together while you run. They are a bit on the short side, but that ultimately comes down to preference, and the size is as advertised. In all, if you're looking for the perfect running shorts, you found them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts really surprised me with how comfy they were, everything about them fit perfectly and nothing rode up (usually I have this issue with running shorts because my hips are wide). I was able to run comfortably with no issue, I didn’t feel like I had to pull them down or adjust at all! These are the perfect shorts to put on and go. I really like the slits in the sides, it makes them even more airy and makes moving so easy! I would definitely recommend these shorts whether you run on the treadmill or on a hiking trail, these are my new go-to running shorts!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start out by saying I'm an avid runner, but strictly run in tights or bicycle shorts. I am always weary of chaffing with regular shorts. With that said, the Dash Speed Shorts might have swayed me into running shorts territory. The fit was true to size and comfortable. The material fit snug and secure meaning they did not bulge, ride, or (most importantly) chafe. I loved how free my legs felt moving in them, and will be adding them to my regular running shorts rotation!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Brooks running shorts are nicely constructed with an inner brief, supportive drawstring waistband, and flyaway sides. The inseam is definitely on the shorter end at around 2” by my measure and more what I consider a true summer running short. There is nice mesh detailing on the side, and they are really lightweight. I wouldn’t wear these for casual athletic wear, but they are a great addition to my warm-weather running wardrobe. I’d recommend them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shorts are too small. The lining is uncomfortable and it kept riding up during the runs. The material is nice and if my legs weren’t so big I think it might be ok, but I prefer something that’s going to prevent chafing. I wore it once and decided this was not for me.

They feel snug in all the right places without being restrictive, and the length hits at a comfortable spot—not too short but still giving good mobility. The fabric feels light and smooth on the run. It’s breathable and wicks sweat well, so even in warmer weather they stay comfortable rather than heavy or clingy. The built-in liner helps keep things feeling secure and dry. One feature that makes these shorts stand out is the practical storage. There’s a zip pocket that’s big enough for a phone or keys, and the waistband feels secure without pinching. Little details like the reflective accents also make them more runner-friendly, especially for early morning or evening runs. On my everyday runs, the Dash Speed Shorts perform consistently. They move with you, don’t rub or chafe, and stay comfortable from shorter jogs to longer training runs. They wash well and hold their shape, too. Overall, they’re a dependable pair of running shorts that balance comfort, performance, and function.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Dash Speed Short is a fantastic warm weather short for hard sessions on the track. They are also a great option for racing up to a 10k if you have an outside option for storing your house/car key. These shorts push the threshold for being as minimal as possible with a 3” inseam, mesh paneling and split sides, and zero additional features. It appears that Brooks took the Breakaway 3” short and added split sides and removed the small interior and left hip pockets. The polyester fabric of the Dash Speed Short feels slightly thicker than the Breakaway short and the waist runs a little larger though. Having the little extra room in the waist of my size medium short is definitely appreciated for my 32” inch waist as they feel like they are sized perfectly. Another huge plus is that the material for the waist is extremely comfortable. These shorts are super lightweight and breathable and feel like you have nothing on outside of the liner. They are perfect for warm days on the track as long as you have a safe place to stash your keys. The split sides give an extremely airy feel, but be warned that the sides will flap and can reveal the outside of your backside. I have a thicker rear end than most men with my waist size (from 30+ years of playing ice hockey), so it is likely these shorts are simply more revealing for me. For that reason, I would only recommend these to someone who feels confident with their body image. I’m fairly comfortable with shorter running shorts, so the Dash Speed Short will be a go to short for me during my track workouts in the hot and humid summers in the DMV area. Where this short misses the mark, at least in my opinion, is the lack of a pocket for my car key. I drive to lots of local races and often don’t have someone with me to hold my car key, thus these shorts will not be a race day option for me the majority of the time. I really wish Brooks included a small interior pocket like the Breakaway short has. In conclusion, I would strongly recommend the Brooks Dash Speed Short to any self-confident person for racing and speed sessions with the caveat that you will need to have an alternative option for storing a key.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shorts are amazing!!! I love the fit and cut of these - short allowing for full movement. The cut is so flattering and the color is great. I love the liner that comes in these. I wish there was a slight amount of stretch, however I love them so much even without the stretch. They seem to fit true to size. Would definitely consider buying more!!!
