Super sticky no sliding here
So glad these mats are back been waiting years to get another one! Its the only mat I've found to be super grippy and sustainable couldnt ask for a better mat. The red color is so nice as well
Its long and that's great for tall folks, but it missed the mark when the redesigned.
This mat is extra long which is needed when your tall and is super grippy, but I am missing the old version of the Prana mat. Sustainability and environment was how they billed the importance of this product and while those factors are part of my decision, the redesign missed the mark. It has an intense rubber smell that stays with you, is 5 inches less wide as the last extra large mat, is not as thick, and let's be honest it is super heavy so not for transporting to and from the gym.
Great for taller people!
I am 6'5" and so I have had a hard time finding yoga mats that are both long enough and wide enough. This yoga mat is great and I never end up going off of the mat for anything. I also really like the grippy texture, which gives it a solid feel even when I am sweaty. This mat is a little heavy owing to its size and material, which is not a problem for me since I do yoga at home, but may be relevant to someone who would travel with this to a yoga studio.
Great mat, no slipping
This is an excellent yoga mat. I went through several other options before finally settling on paying more for this one. I was also keen on trying to find a mat with good grip and also a little thicker so my knees can be better supported. I do wish this had just an extra 2mm of thickness, but overall it's a great mat. Great grip, the length is wonderful for a taller woman (5'9"), I'm never having to adjust or shorten my stride to stay on the mat. As others have noted, there is a rubber smell. I'm pretty sensitive to strong smells, but it hasn't bothered me too much, and is fading with time. I only notice it when I'm belly down on the mat, but I suspect I could also reduce the smell if I wasn't lazy and did a more thorough soap scrub of the mat when I bought it. Overall, high quality mat, I feel like it's going to last me a long time.
Great mat but decompose sooner than I expected
I was a big fan of Prana Revolution Yoga Mat. However, It got discontinued. I decided to try the Verde Large Yoga Mat as an alternative. The texture is wonderful, and it's also lighter in weight. The grip is excellent as well. Unfortunately, I've already noticed signs of decomposition after just 1.5 years of use. I really hope that you consider bringing back the Revolution Yoga Mat or improve the Verde yoga mat.
Can't get past the smell
I bought this mat over a year ago and have hoped that the toxic factory smell would dissipate by now. I really love the texture, grip and size of this large mat though. But every time I use it I'm overwhelmed by a very strong rubber smell and even have to wash my hands after use. Unfortunately it doesn't feel very healthy to have in my home:( If Prana can fix this issue, this mat would be the best.
Terrible for Hot Yoga
Purchased my mouth few months ago for hot yoga and I have always loved prana yoga mats especially their older large revolution mat or their Eco Mat and have always absolutely loved everything about them. Unfortunately with this Verde large Mat it is extremely slippery if it gets any type of moisture or sweat on it and is extremely heavy and narrow compared to their older model of mats.
Replacement for a mat I love
This is the perfect mat for someone who is longer than the average person and who wishes to have a sticky mat with a little extra cushion. It is not light, but most yogis can handle the weight. I gave it 3 stars because my new purchase has a flaw. I have had the same type of prana mat for 5 years and it is holding up well to regular practice and sweat.
Wonderful yoga mat
I wanted a large mat that was lighter than my other large mat. I am over 6 foot tall so need the larger mat. The Verde looks nice in blue and has an interesting texture. The key for me is it is not as large rolled up and heavy as my other large mat. So this is my take out of the house mat now. Thanks for the awesome yoga mat.
Grippy, sustainable, and the right size
Exactly what I was looking for! I’m 5’9” and needed a mat that was long enough for me. This does the trick! I also like a lot of grip in my mats so I don’t feel like I’m slipping. This has a perfectly grippy texture and makes even a beginner yogi like me feel secure and steady in balance poses. I’m thrilled!
