[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes surprised me. Took them immediately out for a run when I got them. When running I didn’t feel springy or like I was flying. But I was… it took all the force I put in and pushed me forward. With out me knowing. I had one of my fastest times I’ve had when running. And the pace while running felt great. One fantastic feature is the sole. This is by far the best most grip sole I have had. I ran in the rain and I had 0 slip. Took corners fast not worrying about anything.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good shoe overall, happy with the product. Having tested it under different conditions and paces I would say it is a good shoe for daily mileage. It would not be my go to for speed/tempo runs, the 1080 or Rebel is better suited for that as the 860 lacks some of that “pop”. The Fresh Foam X does a great job handling most runs and paces, making this shoe capable of being a daily trainer for someone who is looking for a stable shoe and wants extra support. It is well made and performs well across different conditions including the rain and muddy paths. While I would lean toward the 1080 for most daily miles, this is a good shoe for when you are looking for a stable and easy ride.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v15 is a solid any distance trainer. This shoes fits true to size. It has ample foam to cushion the ride. Mid foot and heal strike had a smooth transition. Outsole is traditional and has good grip. Toebox had plenty of space. Plenty of stability for those who need it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been running 30–40 miles per week while building toward a marathon, and the Fresh Foam X 860v15 impressed me from the first run. There’s an immediate “pop” underfoot that feels like a real update compared to previous versions. Much closer to the feel of the Rebel line, but with added stability. What stands out most is how it balances cushioning and support without feeling heavy or overly structured. On longer runs, the shoe stays comfortable and controlled as fatigue sets in, but still feels responsive enough to pick up the pace when needed. I’ve used it on easy runs, long runs, and some steady efforts, and it’s handled all of them well. The upper fits securely without any irritation, and overall it feels like a modern, versatile daily trainer for runners who want stability with a bit more energy return.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m really liking these shoes so far for their lightness and stability. They feel fast and naturally work with my gait. They’re a little higher off the ground than I’m used to so I have minor concerns about their steadiness on anything off pavement (for instance, the seem like they could side roll perhaps easily, particularly in the front of the shoe), but so far nothing to back that concern!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great new version of the 860. It's a great stable shoe and has good responsive feel and cushioning. This has right amount of firm cushioning that's not too soft and provides good energy return. My average run is between 5-8 miles, this will be a go to shoe. First run felt great, looking forward to getting miles in these!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New Balance 860v15 . Size 11 D Fit: Runs a bit small and very snug through the toe box compared to typical size 11s. I'd suggest the wide version for a better fit. Performance: Solid stability and a comfortable ride. It’s a bit heavy for fast sessions, but the support is perfect for easy recovery miles.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid shoe, and works well on a variety of surfaces. A little more flexibility would have been nice, but great stability and cushion. I usually run in something lighter, but it did pleasantly well when I tried to pick up the pace.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very firm which I find important to a stability shoe. It has more bounce to it than the Nike structures which I found pleasing
This is a great shoe for flat footed runners like myself. I’ve used a few different shoes from ASICS, On, Adidas and had the previous version of the 860, while also trying different combinations with insoles, and this has the best mixture of support, cushion, weight, and responsiveness in a stability shoe. The stability plane does its job. I took out my orthotic that I used to think was mandatory to keep my PTT issues at bay but it definitely feels that there’s enough support to combat my over pronation. The fresh foam is nothing new, and while I would’ve liked to try the Infinion foam that’s present in the 1080 it still makes for a cushioned and responsive shoe. The base of this version feels wider, and I felt stable and supported in every stride. Stability shoes have to balance weight and support with speed an responsiveness, and this shoe does this well. While ASICS and other brands have gone away from a traditional stability lost in favor of geometric stability, the 860 says if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The upper feels premium and snug. The overall design fits right in with New Balance’s current offerings and I always appreciate reflective elements in the logo and other parts of the shoe. Overall, this so far has solved my search for a stability daily trainer. Being able to slip them on with no orthotic and get the right balance of support and responsiveness made me love this shoe. While I don’t see it as a race day shoe, it’s certainly a daily driver that’ll have a spot in the rotation.
