great summer shorts for kids
These are basically board shorts but would be perfect for any summer activity-especially with water involved! We haven't had a chance to try them out yet since it hasn't been the right weather, but they are lightweight and I bet they will dry fast. The fabric seems durable. Also love the print.
Another excellent youth product for REI-reared kid
I have four male bio-grandsons and three “acquired” grandsons - 5 up to teens. All have worn REI clothing since old enough to wear swim diapers. Now they’re kayaking in the Guadalupe. I ordered XL for the 10 year old (he would quickly add “almost 11”) and the XL - usual REI high quality in a catchy geometric colorful pattern - was too small. Suggests to me these either run small or his growth spurt caught us unawares. I’m currently circulating this great PRODUCT PROVIDED BY REI FOR REVIEW among the other grands (too small for the next ones who tried them) - all active outdoors males - with pictures to follow when the right young male body fits the shorts.
I love these and so does my kid!
My kid loves the cool pattern, 3 pockets (1 zippered!), and that they’re quick drying. I love the durability, ease of care, and general functionality. Looking forward to having these for summer fun in and out of the water. The quality of material and construction is what sets these apart from other shorts we’ve tried! I ordered a size too big on accident but the drawstring makes them work until my kid grows into them.
For the kid that wants to hit the trail hard
These shorts are perfect for a rough and tumble kiddo. The pattern and design is great and the material is tough as nails. It dries fairly quickly and can stand up to all that the trail can throw at you. I wish there was some stretch and a bit more flexibility.
