Freestone Z

Extremely disappointed in Simms. First, I ordered in November and when I hadnt gotten it by early mid December I spent hours trying to get a hold of someone. Finally got a hold of someone, quot;there was some problem with orders during that week in Novemberquot;. He couldnt tell me if it would come before Christmas. Fortunately, it did. However, the same size my husband has worn forever, these waders were huge in the trunk. He put his old freestones on top and there was 3 inches of material (so 6 inches total) extra. We thought maybe it got mislabeled or something. Sent an email but surprise, no answer.

Streamgagers delight!

My favorite waders! Ease of getting into/out of with zipper + durable knee and lowers super suitable for my work measuring rivers. I don't mind being in these all day and with the right layering good for field work no matter the weather.

Great fit with enough room to layer. Extremely dry and durable. I wish there was a pocket inside and zipper definitely need to get use to.

Great Quailt, Fit, And Feel.

I had the previous generation Freestone Waders and they took 3 years of abuse, 3-4 days a week on the water and exceeded my expectations. I recently bought the new Freestone Zs and they are fantastic! The stitching makes for a better feel and better mobility. The fit, flex, and new gravel guards are top notch. The storage pockets are nice along with the tool docking area. The zipper is heavy duty and is convenient allowing for easy in and out and will be useful when nature calls. I have no complaints. I look forward to many, many days on the water with these waders!

fit amp; confort

Performed well on 7 days trip to Alberta and BC; weather was still hot but the breathability was excellent. Had to walk 4 to 5 miles a day on loose stones, no chafing or odd pulling. Loved the two pockets in front, one for the phone the other for the car keys so they were not in the vest. Fully open the zipper is a little hard to close but it works and does not leak! Appreciated the longer gravel guard with no hook to rip off With my Simms Guide vest and older Guide boots I was styling!

Excellent waders

Working as a fisheries professional, these waders are part of the PPE required to do our job. In the water 3-5 days a week, surveying fish, constructing weirs and traps, we need waders that perform, day after day, and the Freestone Z waders are the ticket. Easy on and off with the built in zipper. As someone who spends 120+ days/year working in waders, I would highly recommend.

Great product

I had previously owned a premium competitor product but over time the inseam and chest area, not to mention no zipper, became quite uncomfortable. The Sims zipper is a game changer and the expansive chest area, with short inseam is perfect. Lightweight, seems durable. The zipper pocket s in the chest are a bonus.

Initial review of zip up freestones

While I have not used them yet I will give them 5 stars for the fit so far. I paired the waders with the salt boots for striper fishing and so far I am completely satisfied with the overall fit and feel while in them. That said a little hiking and fishing in them will tell the whole story. So far so good.

Dont know if Ill go back to regular waders

I was a bit concerned with a zipper but this year I did quite a bit more fishing in the cold and with more layers and bulk the zipper alllows for putting them on and taking off as well as when I have to go to the restroom. Theyre great
