Great Sling Pack
I previously owned a couple different dry creek z slings and I much prefer the headwaters sling over the dry creek. The headwaters pack has a nice organized feel with various pockets and dividers. The outside pocket is very handy with the flip down fly caddy. The net storage spot is okay but could be better. I hesitated to buy this pack based on a bit of information that I saw claiming that the net storage was basically unusable. I have found it to be adequate but also believe it could be improved. Strap options are a bit limited but I typically haul a large amount of stuff including a rain jacket and feel like I still have a bit of room to spare. Lastly, I like the ambidextrous touch to this pack that allows to move strapping to be supported on the other shoulder. Happy I gave this pack a try and feel I’ve got a good long term option if it can hold up to heavy usage.
Headwaters Sling Pack Test Run
Tried out my new sling pack today and I must say, I’m very pleased, just the fact that it’s ambidextrous really makes a difference, was able to stow all my gear and still have some room ,will be moving things around to see what works best. I think it could use some loops or d-rings to hang a few things, but so far this thing is great.

Was a little too bulky, Did not sit as on the shoulder as other Simms products I have owned. Construction and pockets Zippers were well built. Sent it back in for a less bulky item.
Love it!!!
Versatility at its finest! Super functional once you get it set up the way you want it. Large enough to pack for a day on the water!
