A true waterproof suitcase
It's an incredible backpack. I've been using it in saltwater and freshwater in very wet conditions, and it works very well. No leaks, the water stays out, and my fishing gear stays dry. The exterior pocket works very well because of the zipper placement and the protection to keep water out. I recommend this bag; I'm very happy.
Too large
I had the original version of this pack, which I thought was perfect and used almost weekly for over 10 years until it lost it's waterproofing. So I ordered the new version which turns out to be much too large for most actual fishing situations. You wouldn't want it on your back while casting in a river or on a beach. And it would be too bulky to stuff into a drift boat or other small watercraft. I think it was designed to haul as much gear and clothing as you possibly could use to a destination, then take it off and leave it somewhere while you fish. Having said all that, it is clearly well-made and certainly appears to be submersible, but I returned it.
Great backpack for the plane, hike, and boat!
Ive used this bag on several trips, both for fishing and non-fishing. I used it as my go-to plane backpack, its distinctive from all other backpacks on the plane! The zipper can be a little difficult to pull if you dont have a good grip on the bag with the other hand, but Ive not had any issues with it being able to close. If you want the total wet -proof bag, it takes a last quot;harumphquot; to get it to seal. The obky thing I wish it had was a large internal velcro patch to quot;installquot; other small bags inside.
Meh
I finally got a chance to use the bag last weekend. Positives: keeps your gear dry, fits well to body while wearing, very light weight and looks nice. Negatives: expensive for what you get, no straps included for holding rod tubes (possibly due to bag sizing/doesn’t work well), the bag/insert inside should be designed for separating fishing gear and not a laptop (which is questionable anyway), the zipper system (opening/closing) requires two hands and a little effort. Wish it opened easier and a few more inches more on each side, while not requiring ongoing maintenance (it’s gonna fail and get wet over time bc I’m certainly not paying extra to keep up with it). I primarily bought it for steelhead fishing. I wanted a bag to bring a small amount of gear with limited clothes for the day without needing to go back to the car. I’d like it if it was a tad larger and better designed for gear and transporting rods for the price.
Saved a day of Fishing!
Love this bag - flew to the White River and used it as my back pack on the plane then loaded with gear the next day on the river. No rain was forecast but it poured on us for an hour straight. Everything in the drift boat got wet - but nothing inside this bag! Paid me back on my first trip with it!
Exactly what I Wanted
This pack makes organizing and accessing my gear so much easier. I no longer have to carefully remove a backpack or standard sling to access stuff while I’m out on the river. I’m able to remove one clip, and slide the bag in front of me without worrying about losing something. Game changer!
Excellent
We have been scouting new rivers and fishing spots and the pack has been a great help. It allows you to get through wet woods and through fast waters while keeping all your gear dry. Great bag!!
Perfect Size for Day Trips
Extremely durable and well made. Holds a ton of gear. Water bottle holders are a little hard to reach (maybe I need to work on my flexibility). Overall I recommend this pack.
I like this bag
This is a great addition to my arsenal. It is a great size. My only complaint is that I can't reach my net when fishing alone from where the net holder is on the bag.
Perfect Dry Pack
This is the perfect dry pack! It easily holds my mirrorless camera, fly boxes, rain jacket, ect! Super comfortable and can handle any conditions!
