Great Fit!
Early review so not a lot known on durability but feels well constructed and robust. I have several Patagonia shorts styles and know fit can vary, with this being a newer style I took a chance on it and the fit is very good. Even with larger thighs, mobility and cut are great, no riding up. Pockets are a good depth and usable. Looks good for a casual daily wear too and comfortable. No strange pocket design like the stand up shorts and no weird flaring at the leg opening like some of the more technical shorts. Great length similar to baggies, maybe slightly longer.
Such a shame…
Bought these to supplement and then replace my old Patagonia hemp-based casual shorts. The old shorts were worn over a few years and with a ton of use. These new ones are a couple months old and have only been worn a handful of times. The length, cut, feel and style are excellent and exactly what I was looking for. That’s why it’s such a shame that they don’t have any durability. After a few months they have the same wear near where I keep my wallet that my old shorts had after a few years. Like the other shorts I’ve only ever used them casually to go to the office our around town. Never anything technical in these. Worn out after a handful of uses. Thank goodness for REI’s return policy. Hopefully Patagonia adjusts the build material from this sort of feedback.
Lightweight indeed.
Great shorts. Much lighter weight than anticipated. Even lighter than baggies. Just FYSA.
