These are super comfy for trail running! My husband got us these and I ordered mine a full size up which I could’ve just ordered a half size up for a little extra room because the toe box area is roomy. I love adidas and want another pair for my regular long runs so I can train for my marathon.
I was hoping these would breathe some new life into my trail running this yr. Mission accomplished, but for a reason I wasn't necessarily expecting. i was expecting a peppy & fast ride, but the nimbleness has been a pleasant surprise. The only tidbit I can add is that the lacing is sensitive. On my second trail run I laced the right shoe a little too tight and it completely changed the comfort/behavior of the shoe. so now make sure i get them laced just right as the sawtooth laces do stay tight.
The ASU 2 keeps the fun and speed from the original, but refines the fit and feel. Far more stable feeling underfoot with noticeably better grip in the mud. The additional heel padding kept my foot locked in and comfortable. I went true to size and had ample room around my forefoot and toes. Overall I think this shoe is worth the upgrade from the first version and different enough to try out if the first wasn't the right fit for you
I always wanted to try these shoes and i been waiting for 3 years before buying them. I live in Whistler and most race have concrete and are in trails. I love the alphafly and the adizero pro 3 but they don’t have good grip. I was very intrigued to try trail carbon plated shoes and these did no disappointed. I was planning only race with them and i think i will run trails every time i can with them. The foam absorbs so much, the rocker in the shoe is just incredible and the plate really pushes you forward. I bought the agravic speed last year and they don’t feel good for long runs. These are just MAGIC. The heel is so massive and the toe box is very wide and grippy. They are very breathable and i love the feel around the ankle. Something that the Adizero pro 3 was missing and these got everything you need for long distance running. 10/10 i don’t want to wear anything else.
After two pairs of the first version, this new version feels and runs like the same shoe, which is nice. I got the same size as I had in version one before hearing the sizing was fixed. With version one on one foot and version two on the other, the sizing feels identical to me. I like the upper changes—lockdown is easier and the tongue is more comfortable. The larger lugs are also a win.
Much improvement over the previous model. Still feels durable & lighter. Feels more nimble & agile. That toe & heel curvature makes it much more run friendly on hard ground. Each strides you make feels like it naturally thrusts you forward. The fit & finish & build quality is all there too!
Beautiful colors and light weight performance fast
I was very excited to try the new model of the ASU after going through five pairs of the current model in the last 18 months. The sizing has changed drastically. The size 13 I ordered seems to be almost a full size smaller than the current model and is too small for me to run in. The upper material is much less breathable, to the point you can barely feel any air flow when trying to blow through it. The eye stays have been extended about 2 cm from the current model and the extra length is not needed. The new model is 23 grams heavier in the same size as the current ASU. The padding around the heel is a positive improvement. The upper seems overbuilt with the heavy Terrex overlays on the upper. With the advancements in shoe technology it would have been easy to cut weight and make improvements to the current version, but these have clearly gone backwards. The 7% increase in weight for the premier race shoe is shocking. Maybe version three will be better, but waiting until 2028 is a long time ago
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] About a 100 miles into my first pair of the Ultra 2s and already plan on ordering another pair. Cush enough to train it, but aggressive enough when switched on to race in (personally love the rocker). New fav trail shoe.
Comfortable and nimble. Trail running shoes have typically been bulky and heavy, but these are responsive and nimble, and unlike the ones I was using from another brand, these appear robust and durable. Good job Adidas!
