The Cormac shirt was my long-standing go-to, specifically dating back to the original Arc'teryx LEAF line. Those older iterations have held up exceptionally well through years of heavy use, showing minimal wear. Unfortunately, recent revisions have been disappointing. While the fit was eventually corrected after some inconsistent sizing updates, the fabric quality has notably declined. A shirt I purchased less than a year ago is already showing fabric runs and fraying seams. The current, lighter-weight material feels even less durable, and I am concerned about its long-term viability. The attached photo illustrates the stark quality difference between the older and newer versions. I have been fan for over a decade, but now I'd not recommend this product.
Obviously, it is baggier than the previous version once I put it on my body. I just got no idea of the designer, why change this tshirt in continuous three years. I bought cormac in the past three years. Everything is changing, the cut, the material and the UPF capability. My body shape is just good in size M for the past cormac. Now the new cormac is longer in length and even baggier. So I need to find a tailor to cut the length to make it fit. The only good news is the new material feels good than ever. The texture is not bad. My recommendation is you better try it before you buy.
I have 5 cormacs in total. 3 from 2024-2025 2 from this years release with the new fabric. I can say the new fabric here is so much softer and more breathable. However, it’s roomeier (bigger in medium) but it allows for more air flow and I don’t mind. The Phasic material was nice but held onto moisture for a while. The new Solotex does dry up quicker. Buuut, it lost its upf spf rating?? The last phasic was upf50 rated. These aren’t?
I've been solely a Lululemon customer for technical wear for the past 8 years. I've recently tried Arcteryx and purchased 2 of these shirts and one Gamma Shorts (more to come). Because I'm a new customer, I can't compare with the previous iterations. But I find the material and shape/fit of the Cormac to be superior to the Lulu License to Train (the equivalent tier) tee shirts. And I'm surprised that the Cormac fabric is of Japanese origin which means superior quality and perfection. This will be my main shirt for the hot summers outside and in the gym. I'm atheletic/muscular 5'10" and the M is a good fit. The subtle green and blue color looks great. I'll have to buy the black and grey when they're back in stock. I just hope the shirt retains its shape over time.
The new fabric is great but I feel like overall it's a substantial step back from the previous version. I loved the old version, especially for trail running/hiking with a vest/backpack on. It seemed to have a reinforced neck seam which was amazing; it prevented stretching when the shirt got damp or when I have a pack on. Now the new version is like any other mediocre workout shirt where the neck stretches out substantially as you run/hike. I'm disappointed.
I purchased two Cormac short-sleeve shirts from the previous season, and they are in constant rotation. The 2026 revised version is, for me at least, much more flow-y and much less fitted. The t-shirt is objectively longer than the previous season; there is more fabric. Overall, I feel the shirt is less appropriate for technical/sporting pursuits, and more akin to a casual tshirt. I far prefer the earlier version.
Revised Cormac for 2026 has an updated fit and fabric. Both are positive changes in my opinion. The neck/collar opening is slightly smaller on this version compared to the last which was too large. There is an extra few centimeters of fabric in the body length and sleeves. Fit seems more flowy but less boxy compared to the last version. I don’t see a SPF rating anymore which could be the only negative change.
Last years version of this shirt was my favourite tech tshirt I’ve ever worn (and I’m picky!). They made the fit baggier, dropped the spf in the entire line, and the material doesn’t feel as nice on skin wearing it. This update ruined all of my favourite things I loved about this shirt, so disappointing. The Cormac line is a staple across your summer lineup, why would you make such drastic changes?
I’ve been using the Cormacs for a few years now, and the updated material is a noticeable improvement. It’s softer and has more stretch, while still feeling lightweight and breathable. The length has changed slightly compared to the previous version—it feels a bit longer—but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, it’s a solid update that builds nicely on an already reliable piece.
The new fabric is fantastic. It is very light, which is so versatile, running, working out or hiking, climbing . It’s not a mid-weight shirt. As other have pointed out, the revised shirt design has a major error in fit- It is too long… i’d say its 4-5 inches longer than a standard performance tee. Recommend to size down.
