Super light, but lacking in features & durability
The Norvan shorts are a dream when it comes to weight — you’ll forget you’re wearing them. Perfect for hot weather or runs where every ounce counts. The breathability and minimal bulk are major pluses too. They are also super quick to dry. However, there are major trade-offs. The shorts are pretty bare-bones in terms of features — just one pocket, which very much limits the versatility. Durability is a massive concern; after just a few uses, signs of wear start to show. There has been a significant amount of pilling over the thighs inside and anywhere with minimal abrasion. Bottom Line: I can't recommend these due to concerns over durability, severe pilling, and lack of pockets.
Great shorts, liner not so great
These shorts fit very similar to last years norvan 7’s, with a bit of an updated fabric which has a nice feel. The liner however is not cutting it for me. It’s constructed the same as an old school swim trunk liner. For running this just doesn’t make much sense. Please update the liner or remove it. Most people will likely be cutting it out which would void the warranty and possibly damage the shorts.
Warning: These shorts have a brief liner!
Fabric is great but the liner is AWFUL! I expected a boxer type liner like other high end shorts, maybe even with a phone pocket like Stio or Lulu. You need to make it clear this is a brief liner that rides up. I love most Arc’teryx stuff but this is a big miss. Will keep the shorts and cut out the liner. I expect better from Arcteryx for this price point.
Do not recommend...
Nice looking shorts but there are a few major issues. 1. the fit is bizarre. the shorts themselves fit great, but the liner seems to fit at least a size smaller. 2. the liner material is uncomfortable. Overall, these shorts aren't worth the premium price tag.
Featherweight running shorts!
SOOO lightweight, comfortable, and well cut. I forget that I have them on. Excellent for runs or long approaches. Admittedly I never even tried the liner - I just cut it out, which was very easy and done in literally one minute.
Too bad about the liner
I loved last years version but this new liner has ruined this shorts for me. It’s tough to find good running shorts without a liner and that’s why I loved these but I guess I’ll have to look elsewhere
Finally a Norvan shorts with liner
Very good shorts like all Norvan products, but finally with a liner. I dont agree with other reviews, I love the brief style of the liner and find it comfy and breathable.
Bad shorts for athletic activities
The shorts are nice but the liner is uncomfortable. Only a back pocket that barely fits a phone. I’d return if I could.
