Smartwool  Intraknit AS Merino Base Layer Bottoms - Women's

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. Awesome base layer! I wore them skiing, hiking, and under jeans. They kept me warm under ski bibs on chilly days. Also, helped me stay warm under hiking pants on colder days. They are very odor resistant. I wore them multiple days in a row skiing and they still felt and smelled fresh. The only downfall is that they are quite see through in the back. They can't be worn on their own and you have to be careful if you are changing out of your outer layer in public. They run slightly big, but are very comfortable.

They are super lightweight (pack down nice and small), have the body mapping tech and are so soft and comfy! Took these on a couple over night trips in the backcountry with temps getting down to 38 at night. Stayed toasty in the 20 degree sleeping bag at night, but these definitely helped with body temp regulating. Used them to layer under my technical hike pants and that was perfect. At the end of everyday, even if I was working up and sweat and couldn't shower for 3 days, the base layer bottoms didn't have any odor… that was pretty impressive! The stretch ability of these is so needed for rock scrambling in Red River gorge KY. When comparing with my other base layer leggings, these have the body mapping tech that is ideal for a wide range of movement. They wash great and dry very very quickly. My only con for these, and that is a personal issue, is that I am 5 ft 2in tall. The body mapping is a little off for me, wish there was a petite size? but I still would get an interknit pair again, I just love the stretch!

Brand new, wore once - hand washed air dried; excited to slip on... Noticed a hole at the knee while wearing; 3/8" diameter? The hole seems to unravel as you wear them? Highly unfortunate, as I love the fit & feel of the material. Have only worn them inside the house twice? When I purchase, there is a 'trust factor' concerning quality & longevity of the product...a blemish? Would love to send this pair sent back for inspection & for Smartwool to either mend; or send new replacement pair. This order is only a few weeks old! Plus I LOVE the feel and fit!

These tights are probably not meant to be worn alone as they are incredibly thin and somewhat see through. However they are great as a base layer for long treks and overnights in mild-moderate temps. Pros: seamless construction, very breathable, stays put-no bunching, did not have to adjust while trekking. Kept temp regulated while alpine night hiking Cons: sizing a lil tricky. At 5’8 140 the Sm fit my thighs well, but my waist wanted XS size, also, they were a little short on me, hitting just below mid calf

I have other Smartwool baselayer leggings in a size small, but as someone with wider hips, they have always fit me a bit tight in the hips. I decided to size up to a medium for this pair and was looking forward to the leggings having a higher rise. The fabric is very soft, very, very stretchy, and adds a good layer of warmth without being too thick. The waistband is such a weird fit, though. The whole waistband, which rises about five or six inches, is the same width around, rather than getting narrower as it approaches the waist. So, for me, that means that the leggins fit tight to the skin except for the top two or three inches of waistband which bag out awkardly in the back because, like most people, I am not perfectly cylindrical, but the waistband was made to fit a perfect cylinder.

As a female that has large hips its hard to find well fitting base layers. I loved the fit and was able to move with out restrictions. I was able to wear xl under my size 14 women work pants comfortably. I work both a a Police Officer and as a Ice Fishing Guide. I enjoyed that the pants kept me warm but not sweaty during my 12 hour shifts on patrol. Working in the dead of winter near the Canadian Border wear I am inside and outside throughout the day its important I don't have wet sweaty clothing. I was able to use the pants as a base layer numerous shifts in a row without strong odors coming through. I would recommend these bottoms to anyone that needs that extra layer in a active profession.

These are flattering and very soft. The XS fits perfectly on my 120lb 5’1” frame. The color is gorgeous and they work perfectly with the matching top. The material hits the right spot on the waist and these are breathable and dry quickly

These 'leggings' are super comfortable, lightweight and fit nicely under heavier pants. Glad to have some comfy fitting leggings to wear in colder weather. I ordered a second pair as soon as I received the first pair.

I use this to run in or wear underneath my work clothes when I'm working outside. It fits great, feels great, but my only complaint would be that they are sort of see-through. I have the black color.
