Extremely Lightweight and Breathable

Extremely lightweight and breathable sun hoody for hot weather adventures! I wore my Sunna hoody while on a climbing trip to Red Rocks and stayed cool and protected from the sun. I love the large hood that fits over my climbing helmet and the thumb holes. I am 5’3 and ordered the S. It does run a little large but I like a baggy fit. This is my new go to sun hoody for hot days on the trails or alpine adventures!!

No UPF Rating

Unfortunately this hoody doesn't actually have a UPF rating, directly on arcteryx's website they answered and said there isn't currently a UPF rating. I would expect such an expensive sun shirt to have that ability. Otherwise it is cute and lightweight but not technical enough

Lightweight & Breathable

I agree with others that the name is a bit confusing. It looks similar to many of the sun hoodies on the market, so I initially expected it to have a UPF rating. That said, if you're looking for an incredibly comfortable, lightweight layer for hiking, running, or other outdoor activities, this is an excellent option. One of my favorite features is that it actually feels cooler when it gets wet, making it especially comfortable on hot days or during workouts. I also appreciate the relaxed, roomy fit. If you prefer a more fitted look, you may want to consider sizing down.

Great Colour Choice for a Sun Hoody

I was very excited to order this Sunna Hoody in the Habitat colour. I cannot speak to its functionality however. Unfortunately, there was a flaw in the material located on the chest so I returned it, hoping to exchange it for another one and the same colour and size. Unfortunately it was already sold out while the other colours were still available. I think this speaks to the fact that there are lots of folks out who really appreciate natural colour choices for their outdoor apparel. The "Habitat" colour is a great choice for a sun hoody because it is a beautiful earth tone in a light colour. The material is fairly soft too. When I am spending time in the wilderness, I prefer to blend in with my surroundings, rather than clash with them. I really hope Arcteryx will take note here! Please continue to keep earth tones on your colour wheel...and if I see this item again in my size and this colour, I will be sure to purchase again.

Love it!

Absolutely love it. Very light and comfortable in hot temps and layers well under a warmer mid weight sweater. Wore it 4 days straight with no odor which was great. Just wish they would put a UPF rating on it. The habitat color looks gray on website but is a nice muted green.

Sunna shirt not upf rated?

I bought this fully thinking it was UPF rated… I could’ve sworn lol. To my surprise I am explaining to my partner that it is a sun shirt when he quickly corrected me lol. Pretty misleading. Would’ve just went for the actual pull over.

Hi Ashley, thank you for reaching out. We can see how that would feel misleading, especially if you were expecting UPF protection from this style. While earlier versions of our shirts were rated for UPF protection, this updated design has not been tested or certified to meet UPF standards. For that reason, these hoodies shouldn’t be considered a primary source of sun protection. We really appreciate you sharing this feedback, and we’ll be sure to pass it along to our design team.

Arc'teryx Quality

I have every color of the men's Cormac hoodie. Bought this for my partner and the material is cheap and nearly see-through. Returned today for her. Hope this is not a trend. Love your products!

Hello there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us — and for being such a dedicated fan of the Cormac Hoody. We’re sorry to hear that the Sunna Hoody didn’t meet your expectations, especially when you were hoping for something similar in feel and quality for your partner. One thing that may help provide context is that the Cormac fabric was recently updated to a 100% recycled waffled polyester, designed to improve airflow and abrasion resistance — and this is the same fabric used in the Sunna. Because it’s engineered to be exceptionally lightweight and breathable for warm‑weather performance, it can feel thinner or more translucent compared to previous versions. That said, your experience matters, and we never want any of our products to feel out of line with what you expect from us. We truly appreciate your feedback and will make sure it’s shared with our design team as we continue refining our performance layers. Thank you again for your support and for helping us improve.

Great tops to protect your skin

Have many of these great tops. They breathe well, protect my skin from the sun, they are comfortable and they last. Use them for walking my dogs and when I go birding. Love them.

No UPF rating

Not sure why you would market a shirt as a sun hoody when there’s no upf rating on it. it’s just overpriced for what it offers

Hello there, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Sunna Hoody. Whilst this updated design has not been tested or certified to meet UPF standards, the Sunna line is built for hot conditions, and the Solatex material is engineered to provide airflow that helps keep you cool throughout the day. We understand how important sun protection and value are when choosing a piece like this, and your feedback on expectations around UPF is incredibly helpful. We’ll be sure to pass your comments along to our product team as we continue refining our designs.
