Fantastic out of the box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great addition to Brooks’ line of trail shoes. It is responsive and cushioned, but not so cushioned that you lose energy into the ground. There is good room in the toe box. The upper is breathable and allows water to escape if you submerge. I wore these mostly in mud and snow and they are one of the best shoes I’ve worn in those conditions. The built in gator kept everything out of the shoe. I ran 32 miles in these my third time wearing them and I had ZERO foot issues. The one negative for me is that I feel they are slightly short for the size. I was wearing size 8, but I’d probably size up 1/2 size in the future. I was sent this product as a complimentary sample.

Versatile All-Day Comfort Racer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Cascadia Elite was EXACTLY the long-distance racer I've been looking for. There's no part of the shoe I can criticize from the stretchy heel collar to the Vibram Lite-Base outsole. The upper provides a lockdown that's secure yet comfort-oriented. The midsole has enough bounce to propel you in your smoother trail miles while remaining stable enough (due to the wide platform) to handle the majority of terrain you'll encounter in an ultramarathon. The forefoot maintains some flexibility which helps with slower and steeper miles - something not many trail supershoes can claim. That's right - the Cascadia Elite still feels great even when you're exploring your pain cave deep into an ultra.

I loved them until they started coming apart

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted so badly to make this my go to shoe. They fit well, felt relatively quick and had all the things that I was looking for in a race day shoe. However, after 30 miles, the fabric started to delaminate from the sole on the inside of my arch. This was very surprising as I have had Brooks road shoes with well over 500 miles on them. They ended up wearing a blister on my arch in that spot from the sliding of the fabric against the sole. They have a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they don’t last long enough to realize it. I have 2 stars only because they do have some real potential.

The best trail shoes

Bought for Blue Mountain UTA 100. No changes in the second pair of shoes, no small sands or stones in my shoes and really comfortable!

Light and fast, but don’t fit like the Cascadia 19

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would rate these 5 stars if they had a similar fit and feel as the Cascadia 19s (except with a carbon plate of course), but I was surprised at how different they are. I really wanted to like these, but I think the sizing is the issue- normally I wear size 8 wide in women’s, so in this case got them in size 6.5 (unisex) but they were way too small and had to exchange them. I decided to go a full size up but they ended up slightly too big, and caused my heel to blister pretty badly. I’ll probably save them as (an expensive) backup pair if my feet swell in a race

Long Run Days | A bit smaller compared to other Brooks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great shoe overall. Tested it over a few runs, before returning for a half size up. I see myself using this for my long days on the trails, and of course a few long distance races. I was able to compare this to my other shoes like the Sportiva prodigio. I love the cushion feel, yet good support and wrap around my foot. As others have said, the sizing was a bit off. I typically run a Brooks size 10 for my Hyperion Max 2s, but when I tried it in 10 it was a bit tight around the top and felt a bit smaller than anticipated. *Note, everyone's foot is different so the tightness at the top may not be experienced by you, but the size issue seems to be observed by most.

Smaller and tighter than expected.

Darn it! I bought these to do at least 100miles of Cocodona 250 after reading all of the rave reviews. I didn't see any reviews mentioning tight sizing, except for Humble Running on Youtube, who characterized these as being more "fitted." Perhaps I could get away with this sizing and fit for a 50k, but no way I could go further without completely jacking up my feet. I normally wear a size 13D, however, I would need a 14D in these shoes for a longer ultra..... Too bad I don't even see a size 14 in inventory anywhere. Not even sure if Brooks makes a size 14 in this shoe.

Amazing Shoe

I bought these shoes from a different retailer because I had a gift card. The negative reviews are insane and petty. These are amazing shoes. They do fit tight, probably go up a half size. This shoe will be "trail running shoe of the year " by most magazines and websites.
