Reunited to Tevas After Decades
I grew up in Florida with a pair of Tevas for kayaking and canoeing. They were great. All that was needed. I moved to NYC and had no need for them. I went to closed-toed Keens for rare water hikes and kayaking trips which were fine enough; once I started backpacking I got UL shoes with “xero drop” as camp shoes. I just never returned to Tevas for some reason. Wanted to try other things I guess. Until recently when I was so fed up with the uncomfortable and even dangerous camp shoes I had. Oh my gosh, I forgot how great Tevas are! Instant comfort! Instant. I recently took them on a camping/hiking trip to Colorado where I exhausted my body & feet and slipping them on was absolute heaven. Unlike my old camp shoes that actually hurt more. The cushion, the comfort of the straps, being able to adjust the different parts of the straps independently, so many instant improvements. I also wore them for a .8 mile dirt/rocky nature trail to some boulders and they felt good and supportive w/decent traction. I didn’t have a problem with sand or pebbles getting stuck into them. Walking around town was such a breeze and just felt right. Also, the moon design is super cute. They’re a little bulkier and a couple ounces more than my old shoes, but for me it is completely worth it. The added comfort and reliability far outweighs (pun not intended) the added weight & dimensions. I am SO happy I made the switch after two decades of try other brands. My travel mate had to listen to me swoon over how comfortable they are throughout the entire trip.
order them now
Okay so I been wearing my sandals for two weeks now and at first I was a little scared about the strap because it could potentially hurt or cause a blister while walking. However, after wearing them for two weeks, going on long walks and allowing the sandal to mold to my foot, I must say that these sandals are the most comfortable sandals I own. They’re light, cute, and stylish. You can most definitely run in them if you had too, you could jump in the water or simple go on a long walk. I am a little scared about the life expectancy of the sandal but for $50, I must admit it will be one amazing ride. 20/10, you need these sandals in your life.
Happy feet
I love the comfort of these sandals. Light weight and pretty colors. I got a lot of compliments with these sandals. This is my first pair of teva and I highly recommend them.
Chacos vs Tevas
So I originally bought these shoes because I was getting annoyed with my chacos (I have been an avid Chaco wearer for over 7 years so this came as a surprise). I have had my Tevas for about a month and while they have worn well I am still not sure I would recommend them over chacos. While they are ideal for different circumstances (tevas more of a around town sort of vibe and Chaco a little hardy) I would say that Chacos Just offer a little more in terms of support, durability, and versatility. With that being said though the price of tevas vs chacos are hard to beat. If you want a long wearing sandal opt for Chaco, if you want a sandal that I see good for a the summer and also can take you to a non hard correct trail and you don’t want to break the bank go for the teva life. I mean I own both and wear them both all the time!
Sole separated!
I really liked the design/print on this and thought since this is a Teva product that I could use it for a river rafting trip. It was great in the beginning. I felt like I had good grip and didn't slide on the raft. I like that you can adjust the different straps to fit your needs. The issue is that after being splashed with water a few times during the trip, the sole separated. Sadly I will be returning this.
Cute but not functional
I bought these for casual fishing and lake/river walking but it turns out I can't use them for what I intended. Once they get wet, my feet slide around inside the straps so I have no grip or control over where my weight is placed on my feet. They also have poor grip on the bottom of the shoes. With these two factors combined, I do not feel safe walking rocky riverbanks in these shoes. I will keep them for more casual use, but as a person who likes to keep a minimal shoe wardrobe, I'm very disappointed that I have to buy another sandal for my intended purpose.
No Back Adjustment
I gave these 3 stars because I love the color but, there is no back strap adjustment. I thought Teva's big selling point was how well you could adjust them to your feet. My foot fits on the bed of the shoe perfectly but, they fit too loose :o(
Cute but flimsy
I got these sandals because my dog at my old Chacos and I was looking for something lighter so that it wouldn't be such a pain to take sandals on backpacking trips. These are definitely lighter than my Chacos, but they also lack the structural integrity I'm looking for in a sandal. I'm a pretty heavy sandal wearer -- I live in the south and I wear my sandals nearly everyday from probably February/March til October or November. Even after only a few months of wear the foam footbed was getting so worn down it was like I was just walking directly on the ground. They're also pretty flimsy in the water compared to my old Chacos. I wore these for about 1.5 years and then bought a new pair of Chacos that are going great through the first few months and I'm optimistic will last me several more years. Nice to have these around as camp shoes when backpacking though.
Waited far to long to try Tevas
I wear these to work, in the garden, and this weekend in the High Sierras. They work well with narrow feet - see adjustable Velcro. Footbed is cushiony, room for toe spread and very low drop. They make a sound when I first put them on in the a.m., a squishy sound, but stop quickly when they warm up? I bought all black. I don't see any marks on my floors. Would I wear them on a 4+ mile adventure walk? Probably not. In and out of the pickup, down a dirt road and into the river? Yes. I'm a 8 1/2 in casual shoes and 9 in running shoes. The 8s fit perfectly.
Only useful as a casual sandal
Unfortunately these TEVAs did not hold up well with light hiking, and the velcro separated immediately when wet. Not for outdoor activities.
