I’ve been running long trail miles in these shoes and I absolutely love them. From the very first run, the comfort stood out — the cushioning feels plush underfoot without being overly soft or unstable, which makes these great for long days out on the trail. They don’t feel bulky or heavy. The fit feels true to size and secure, and the outsole handles varied terrain with confidence thanks to the Contagrip lugs — I’ve been able to run everything from smooth dirt roads to rocky singletrack without any major slip-ups. Overall, these have become my go-to shoe for long trail runs. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a cushioned trail shoe that can go the distance.

Ultra Glides have often been a favorite of mine and this update has been amazing. I looked forward to appreciating the relieveSPHERE technology for longer runs, but have been pleasantly surprised with how quickly into runs I noticed the benefit and have really enjoyed it for shorter runs as well! The cushioning in this shoe is also very comfortable without making the shoe feel unstable. The bottom of the shoe feels grippy and the lugs have provided good traction on some the wetter trails following a few good rains. This is quite a versatile shoe. Highly recommend.
I’ve been searching for a new, everyday, versatile trail shoe that can go the distance now that the Sense Ride isn’t geared toward running anymore and because it’s just gotten worse with each new version. I’ve tried several other models, trying to fit this need, and nothing has worked until this shoe. As others noted, it’s very comfortable. What stood out to me most was the wider toebox, which was a pleasant change from other Salomon trail shoes. The tread is quite grippy and the lug depth is great for more technical terrain. They do feel wider to me and I think would take getting used to for anyone accustomed to a narrower shoe, but they don’t feel like a lot of shoe and are not heavy. Overall, they seem to be great for daily mixed running.
Love these shoes! Have been a big fan of the Ultra Glide series and these do not dissapoint. Excellent grip, like a marshmellow underfoot. A great shoe that can do it all. Long distance, daily training, can even handle a bit of technical. If you want one shoe that can do it all this is it.
I own and love thw Ultra glide trail 3, amd I like that one slightly more than this. I so love the cushion and grip on the trail, but the toe box on the women’s version is a bit narrower- and I like a roomy toe box. Love Salomon trail shoes. I own the SLab trail and love it.
I have always worn an 8 Solomon women’s shoe. These Ultra Glide 4 are either defective or run small with a very compact toe box. I had to return them and could not find a Solomon replacement for years of wearing the Ultra Glide 2.
I don’t run. I have a very bad knee and these running shoes have such great cushioning that I wear them all the time. That’s why I bought 2 pairs of different colors. I’m a big fan. From now on, only Salomon Ultra Glide for me.
Absolutely loved this shoe. I had to size up by half a size. Of course, the yellow version and the colour are brilliant. Very lightweight and comfortable, great bouncy sole. Looking forward to taking it to Tenerife next week.
best product i ever tried, help to do my first trail 27k in the beach
