I have never been as disappointed with a pair of walking/running shoes, as I have been with these. I purchased half a size up, because when trying on in store, they felt a little snug. However, after 4 weeks of wearing them, even these feel tight and my feet feel very squashed at the front. They are very narrow, my toes are in pain after I wear them for a long period and my feet are in agony afterwards. I have worn them in for what I think is a suitable period of time, and by now, they should be a breeze to wear, but they are not. Salomon were recommended to me by a friend, but clearly these aren't for everyone, and I won't buy this brand again. A shame, as they weren't cheap, so a waste of money for me.
Great shoe with lots of cushion, and the seamless interior makes it for a very comfortable fit. I like how responsive it is on those pavement runs, allowing for a more effortless stride. Awesome addition to my collection.
I just started a new running program and these shoes are it! They are comfortable, bouncy but not too much and make the process more enjoyable. Highly recommend.
I recently had foot surgery and I have bad knees, so I was looking for a shoe with a generous toe box and plush padding to reduce impact. This shoe has/does both. I just hate the large tongue and I am having trouble accepting this. I am a mature woman and the oversized tongue, in my opinion, it just looks silly on me. I purchased a beautiful green pair, which I am wearing, and a white pair which I am debating if I will keep (because of that oversized tongue issue). I wish I could figure out how to rectify this.
I bought these because my Evo SLs were not stable enough, and I heard that the Aero Glide would have a similar responsiveness. I would not say that they live up to my hopes in terms of responsiveness, but they are very cushiony and good for long runs. I also wear them on light trails and have not had any issues. I have pretty average feet, and I still find that these run wide (thankfully not nearly as wide as Adidas shoes). I would love if future iterations could be narrower in the heel.
I purchased this running shoe about a month ago and want to love it, but I can't. This is my seventh pair of Aero Glides and what I have noticed is that with every iteration of the shoe, it has become more and more narrow. This is problematic because the shoe does not allow your toes to naturally splay. During a long run your toes are crammed in a small toe box, which does affect your running biomechanics. FYI - I do not have a wide foot.
I usually wear Evo Sls but wanted a more stable alternative for easy runs when my feet are tired. These are pleasantly cushioned without being overly soft like some other cushioned shoes. I read reviews that they ran narrow, but I actually found the opposite - they are slightly wide for my average-width feet, though not as wide as the Evo SLs. I would love if future versions of these had a narrower heel.
THANK YOU SALOMON! Runner's are always worried that brands will mess up a good thing, well that is not the case. The Glide was my favorite road trainer in 2024 (and good enough for a half marathon PR). The opti foam 2 is as good or better and am excited to get another 400+ miles out of this pair. Would love to see a little plate in this one day for that extra je ne sais quoi! Size down a half size.
Unfortunately these hurt my ankle bones and Achilles. There is not enough padding along these edges and the hardness digs in with each step. I can no longer wear these which is so disappointing, and I am still healing from not realizing this on my first long walk. I got the vanilla ice and I’ve had them since November but have only just started wearing them with nicer weather.
I purchased this new pair on-line about a month ago. Almost the exact same as a prior purchase 6 months ago in store and I wore them literally every day they were so comfy!! I continue to wear them every few days for a short time to hopefully to break them in and be more comfortable. Love the look just wish I could wear all day again....
