Roomy fit, airy pockets
Great quality. It's nice to have a lightweight polyester shell option, to layer over cotton and polyester with less static than I get with nylon. It's better for me over a fleece than the Houdini jacket, which is nylon. I still like that as a shell over wool/hemp/cotton. This jacket is about 150% the volume of a Houdini, and heavier at 228g vs 128g for the Houdini (both men's L). It's a very roomy fit. I'm 5' 10", 170# and the L is pretty loose. Without the drawcord hem, would be way too big. But I'll be using it as a packable shell layer, so I don't mind the space - either over insulation or for more air circulation. I would probably have enough room in the M for some layering, so I might have chosen that if I had it to do over again, to save a bit of weight. This jacket would be 5*, but for the wide-open mesh behind the pockets. There isn't a zipper to close them to the wind. I appreciate the ventilation, but for me not being able to close them is a bummer. But yeah, low weight so I get it.
Great windbreaker.
I've worn this a couple times now on cool, breezy days. It did the job. It is a big enough to wear over a sweater on a colder day. The main benefit is it keeps the wind out. I got warm later in the day and stuffed it into the pocket. Nice color too (light blue)
Very lightweight but acceptable
This is a very lightweight windbreaker/mist layer. Extremely packable. However, I wish the hood was a little smaller or had light draw strings to cinch it down. The hood is a good size to fit over a helmet or ball cap, but too large for a bare head. Others on line said this windbreaker was a little large, but I did not find it so. A large fit me fine ( I’m 5’11, and slim ). I purchased the orange/coral color as Inprefer high vis colors for rain wear. The color is pleasant and not too bright.
Fit
I thought this would be similar to the Patagonia Houdini jackets that I have which I love, but the fit is pretty bad. Wish I could return it but I wore it a couple of times thinking it might be okay. It's very baggy. Maybe a size smaller would have been better. I am 5'6" 140 lbs and a small usually is perfect, but not this time.
It’s light and it’s variable
Really like this jacket! Thicker than the Houdini, did a good job at blocking out the wind. If you’re not heavily layering underneath, it’s going to be big. I normally wear a medium but returned it for a small because it was too oversized for me. Impressed with how small and light it packs down.
Great product
Great windblock, fits well. Only thing I would want different is zippers on the handpockets
