Everything is perfect, details and how it fit. I'm 176cm and 68kg, size S fit me well, have more room compare with Bergtagen Eco-shell one. I like the hammerhead zipper like the eco shell version instead of the new paracord, it's easier to grip when you wear thick gloves. I don't know if this is a design intention or a major flaw, customer will have to consider that this GTX version doesn't have a RECCO reflectors.
I bought this jacket in early January, ahead of a splitboarding trip in the French Alps. I'm 53, 5'10" and a bit overweight these days - circa 97Kg. My previous jacket is the top jacket by a well-known Canadian company, which has been disappointing in its waterproofing, and I'm afraid i am now a little large for! When choosing the Bergtagen (I've worn Fjallraven for many years, very interested to see them offering GoreTex) I deliberated over the size a great deal. I actually went for the XL, and I have to say I'm delighted with it. The fit is longer than my previous jacket, but not too long, and my main fear on the sleeves being gorilla-like was unfounded. They are perfect, and I really like the velcro cuffs, very substantial. The cut is roomy enough for me to comfortably wear a thick down jacket underneath on the cold days, but still looks great with just a first and mid-layer only. Waterproofing has been immaculate, and the fabric is much lighter than my previous jacket - it seems to breathe much better, I'm not soaking wet inside regardless due to perspiration - light enough I could wear it on wet walking days in summer months. It was a big investment at this price bracket, but I'm delighted with it and hope it will be my staple go-to for several years to come. Oh, and I LOVE the colour!
