Altra  Lone Peak 9 GTX Trail-Running Shoes - Men's

I bought these about 2 months as a replacement to the Lone Peaks that I wore for years and loved. I got these because I walk a lot for work outside everyday so I thought the water resistant feature would be an added bonus. However, they have caused severe pain in my left foot to the point they are becoming unwearable. I’m not able to specifically determine the difference or the issue but these shoes just don’t support my foot like the previous models I’ve had in the past. Unfortunately, it’s an expensive mistake I couldn’t have predicted.

These shoes are creasing just back of the toe cap and bruising my feet as well as causing hot spots. I ordered the shoes based on the sizing provided by the website and broke them in with several long walks/hikes in the US before taking them on a two week trip to Iceland. The were fine in the US, but have creased visibly and are bruising my feet at the crease. I am also very concerned that the GTX waterproofing will breakdown where the creasing is happening.

people with extra wide feet use GTX shoes also! I love my LPs and can wear the original footshape in non-GTX versions, which you offer in wide. Apparently the GTX version takes up just a tad too much width and hurts the outside ball of my foot. PLEASE Altra, offer Wides in ALL GTX versions!

If been looking for a shoe that fits your feet better than any other shoe you have ever worn or heard about, you have found it! I guess it’s really just my holy grail since your feet are different but that’s how I feel about loan peaks
