Four wheeler, Costa Rica, music mission
I just wanted to send a picture! These are so awesome and beautiful! Fits perfect in the bag. Forget everything and follow the bliss from God.
Compact and Secure: A Solid Fit for the Mini 4 Pro
It's an excellent size for a small kit. I use mine for my Mini 4 Pro drone. Recently figured out how to fit the screened controller inside, though it’s tight. It would be nice if it were slightly taller. The gear feels well-protected, and the loops are a nice touch for attaching carry straps. I mainly use it inside the 7L Outdoor Sling.
Good space for a nice set up
Came with enough dividers to customize my set up. I can fit a canon R5, canon 24-105 2.8f lens, canon 100 - 500mm 3.2-5.6, batteries, chargers, accessories, Drone, 4 batteries, control, and charger.
Cavernous
I bought the X-Large Camera Cube V2 so I have a single carrier I can grab and put in the car. One major requirement was to fit my 28cm-long superzoom lens, optionally mounted on my DSLR. I can fit more kit than I reasonably ever use. One load out I've tried includes two DSLRs, the superzoom, SIX additional lenses, plus the usual collection of batteries, cards, blower, cloth, etc. The one thing I wish was different is that the sides are a little floppy when the lid is open. Also, if I try to lift by one of the short-end straps, I hear a slight tearing sound. As far as I can see, nothing is giving way, but it is worrying nonetheless.
Fantastic Organizers
I've had the V1s for a while and the V2s are just as good if not better. The shells feel firmer, the corners are sharper and thus fit better in backpacks atop of better internal space, the added grab handles are better, the flush lid is much nicer and makes accessing stuff inside easier, the materials and new dividers are SO much better, alone there worth the upgrade, and you always end up with extras to use later! These are easy to stack up in a closet or under your desk and just keeps everything neat up in one place or in a few cubes, you can see the pictures just HOW much stuff you can shove into these and still keep them fairly compact altogether in a closet, and I always keep one of them in my 45L travel backpack, easy setup and so dang modular.
Downgrade from V1 Cubes
I purchased the V2 version of the camera cubes, but they’ve been a letdown. First and foremost, the height of the cubes is significantly lower compared to the V1 cubes I own. As a result, various items, such as my 24-70mm lens and a small flash, protrude from the top. Secondly, the pocket attachments in the V2 cubes are inferior to those in the V1 version. The lack of the organization mesh in the V2 version prevents items like batteries and SD cards from being neatly held. Thirdly, the side access on the V2 cubes appears smaller, making it more challenging to retrieve your camera from the bag compared to the V1 cubes. In conclusion, these cubes represent a downgrade from the V1 version. None of the other “upgrades” matter to me since these cubes are designed to be used inside bags. V2 cubes are a complete letdown. If possible, I recommend purchasing V1 cubes while supplies last.
Fits the travel kit and it's unassuming.
SMedium: I was able to pack my Sony a7cr with cage, Sigma 17mm f/4, Tamron 20-40mm f/2.8, Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 with battery pack and a sleeve of filters into this thing. The Cube fits into my Osprey 34L snuggly, but it works. It's also nice to be able to throw a PD leash on it and use it more as a bag than a cube if need be. The dividers don't fit the gear I have as well as I'd like, hence the 4 stars.
Flexible, Durable
Fits perfectly into my Peak Design 65L Duffelpack. Fully adjustable internal walls with a good selection of partition types. Plenty of room for my Canon EOS T6 with Tamron 18-400mm lens attached, Sigma 150-600mm Telephoto, Flash, Ring Flash, Filters, Slide, Filters, and two additional utility lenses. Attaches to the interior of the Dufflepack wiht the included C-clip mounting system.
Smedium just right!
Bought two new smedium cubes with the idea of using the two of them in the 45L Travel Backpack, when I received them I discovered the smedium will fit (snuggly, but will fit) with a medium cube in the Travel Backpack; so I will be returning one of them. I do mostly travel/adventure photography, need a bag to get as much gear as I can fit to my destination, and have used either the pack and medium cube closed down to the 30L size. The smedium will give me more room than the small cube and will fit a Z8 with 24-70 AND an Air2S and controller, which I can then carry on the hike or bike. If I want to bring a bit more gear I take the backpack.
What's there not to love?
Everything Peak Design carries is well-thought-out and functional. This V2 camera cube is no exception. I have both smedium and medium sizes and they fit inside the 20L and 30L travel backpacks nicely. A smedium can easily accommodate my DJI Air 3, Mini 4 Pro, Action 4 and accessories without much bulk. Add a PD sling to the cubes and they can be removed from the backpack for an even more compact daily carry. Peak Design's recognition of military service with a discount, offered year around, is an added bonus.
