Functionally, the carabiner is fine. However, this just seems unfished. Many of the edges on lock are rather sharp and there is more of a wiggle than with other twistlocks. The moving parts scrap and do not move smoothly. The knurling isn't in the natural spot you grab and twist with, it is near the bottom of he gate and requires extra force to operate single handedly(it would be easier if the knurling was at the top of the gate. This product just seems unfinished. Would not buy again.
I normally hate twistlocks, but after I had a screwgate become stuck in the middle of 10 raps, it was time to try something different. This one you don't have to slide up and then twist, you just twist. More than enough security and won't jam up when it's hot from 18 raps (tested).
I love how easy this is to operate with thick ski gloves on!! I can do it one handed which other locking carabiners I always have had to take my gloves off and warm it up with my hands because it was frozen. This one has never frozed on me yet and I don't think it will. Highly recommend!!
Hands down, this is my favorite locking 'biner. I have used a plethora of different lockers though my climbing career and this has been my favorite. I own several at its my favorite go to 'biner.
By far my favorite make/model carabiner. I find this much easier to operate one handed than the Petzl auto locker.
I bought this for my wife to help simplify her world and it has. Just grasp it at the small end and twist with your thumb and pointer finger and just pull it open. Once you've attached to whatever you're working with just release, locked.
Haven't used this outdoors, but for gym use this thing is much better than the screw gates I'd used in the past. The gate is easy to open one handed and despite a liberal coating of chalk the action of the gate hasn't degraded.
I bought this about 3 months ago and I love it. You can say it's fool proof since you don't have to worry about forgetting to locking it, thought it may be a problem if you're switching between carabiners.
sure helps when your climbing at night and it's CAF! Less time fiddling with screw locking type.
Nice strong carabiner with nice, smooth autolock action. Only small complaint is that the knurling should be a BIT more aggressive as sweaty hands may slip on it.
