Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.
Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.
Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing.Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

I bought these shoes in december 2018 in a trip to Red Rocks Nevada, and I used them for two week, every day (8+ hours), in rock (boulder) and feel very comfortable, with good stick. I really does not compliment about climbing with them. The only thing is that they lasted 10 month or maybe less (7 month). But besides that, I can recommend them. Gym use during Monday to Friday. (maybe best to use, train) Weekend use in rock (slab and edges)
I recently used these on the granite walls of Yosemite and am very pleased with my purchase. The price I paid in store was the same as a competitor with prime shipping, but I was able to try them on before buying, which is critical for something like this. I used the popular "1 1/2 sizes smaller than your running shoes" rule and it worked perfectly for me. 2 hour stretches in the shoe, with loosening the straps during belays, gave me zero discomfort. I would recommend this shoe to anyone who asked.
These shoes have served me really well and I think they’re a great option for a hobbyist climber who doesn’t want to spend their last dime on shoes. I have wide feet so I chose to go with a men’s size instead of women’s and it was way more comfortable. The back rubs a little bit I’m confident it will break in. Unless you’ve bought climbing shoes multiple times before I would say it’s absolutely necessary to try these on in person for the best fit (there was an REI guy who was happy to help me with what to look for since I’m a fool who has never bought shoes before). Overall great shoes - easy on, easy off, and easily carabiner to my bag for transit.
I started climbing ~3 months ago and these shoes have been great for a beginner. I primarily use them for indoor bouldering and am currently using them on V4 problems. I'm still learning, but don't find these shoes limiting at my skill level except on more technical overhangs. These shoes have been very comfortable especially if you have wider feet. For reference, I wear an 8.5 in street shoes, 40 in Vibrams, and ended up purchasing these in a 40. I tried another brand of climbing shoes as well and preferred the fit of these and velcro rather than laces.
These are my first pair of rock shoes ever -- have been climbing for about 11 months mostly, indoors and they have served me well. Simple on/off system and the way the shoe is cut and the straps work, they stay tight and have broken in well. I feel like the quality of the upper and overall construction is fantastic, especially for the price. I am onto some more advanced TR and basic lead routes, intermediate boulder problems and I don't feel that these limit me, but as one reviewer mentioned, a more aggressive shoe would be ideal for more technical overhangs. Definitely recommend these if you are just starting out or even if you're just looking for a neutral shoe option.
These are my first climbing shoes, purchased July 2017. I have been happy with them as a climbing shoe, comfortable enough. I have not noticed the slipping problem other reviewers have mentioned, but I don't have anything to compare them to either. My only complaint is that after about nine months of climbing indoors once or twice a week, the sole along the inside of the right foot has worn through, exposing the material underneath. I didn't expect this to happen so soon. I do tend to climb down a lot, and must be dragging my foot, but still...
I bought this pair of Scarpas because it was the only one in my size and it was also the cheapest on my budget. I'm primarily a gym climber and as such have used them fairly extensively for the past 2 months. Few things, the soles aren't as grippy as I'd like and they wear almost like a pair of flats. These do have really nice support and comfort around the heel so I've been able to heal hook a lot more. These are a nice starter pair of climbing shoes although I'd go with something with a little more grip on the soles.
Nicely designed shoes, but they didn't fit my wide feet that well. But the main reason I returned them was Scarpa's website noted the shoes expose the wearer to carcinogenic compounds, including hexavalent chromium, formaldehyde and perfluorinated compounds (the broad category of compounds that Teflon is made from, they never leave the body once you've absorbed them). I wish I'd seen that warning before buying. Really, REI's staff should've alerted me of this before I bought them and drove 45 minutes home with them. The last thing I want is to have my bare, sweaty feet absorbing dangerous compounds during a workout.
Although these were my first pair of rock climbing shoes, they definitely seem as though they withstood in all aspects typically looked at by experienced climbers. I wore them while climbing for hours on end in the Gunks while it was raining. They slipped very rarely, didn't loosen up on me, remained sturdy during the climb, and were easy to take on and off! I'm super happy with them!
It's been a solid shoe for me. I generally climb 3-5 times a week and the shoe has held up to a lot of abuse. Very comfortable shoe, I can wear them for a couple hours without taking them off. Sizing wise I had to actually go up from my street size oddly enough. One of the toes is starting to split as some people have posted photos of, but I think it's from dragging my foot up sometimes and not a manufacturing issue.
