Great shirt for backpacking and travel

I bought this in Chile at the beginning of a trip when I was backpacking abroad for a year. This shirt is light, versatile, and durable. It's great to wear when it's hot and sunny (good ventilation and sun protection), but you can also wear it when the weather is cool if you have a long sleeve thermal shirt underneath. This shirt also looks presentable, so I was able to wear it in on a few occasions when I needed to look semi-professional (embassy visits, etc.). For travel or outdoors, I recommend one of the gray colors since it's low-profile, and it also won't be immediately obvious if it gets a little dirty on a hike.

My new favorite shirt, durability lacks slightly

Picked up one a few weeks ago, and ordered a second just the other day. It's a great shirt to hike in, probably one of the best I've ever owned. The bottom sides on the left and right have begun to fray a little only after a couple hikes. I think it's due to rubbing up against my pack's hip belt. Still not sure how long it will hold up over the years, but in terms of comfort I can't find anything that beats it. For the price, I wish it were just a bit more durable however. The attached image of the fraying is only after 4 hikes, around 30 miles in total. Wonder if I just got a dud. We'll see when the second arrives.

Insanely awesome shirt!

Just bought this shirt 2 weeks ago, right before a trip to Vegas, Zion, Bryce, and Lake Powell where daily temps were 105+. This shirt was my go-to for half of the days on my trip. I was concerned that a long-sleeve shirt would be a bit too hot but this thing is so lightweight and breathes like you're not wearing a shirt. I was constantly getting wet from the lake, sweat on hikes, etc, and it dried in 15 minutes or less. I looked at several other similar shirts with great reviews (Arc'teryx, Colombia, Patagonia, etc) but this shirt is less expensive and absolutely awesome. Seriously, get one!

Button Fell Off

Bought this shirt about a week ago. The shirt is defective right out of package. The button on one of the sleeves was almost off, and the other one wasn't very secure neither. I had to DIY sewing to put that button back on and secure the other one. The spare buttons on label look much more secured that these two.

A clutch shirt for a long distance trip.

This shirt was one of my favorites on my most recent 8 day trip into the Sierra high country. I was looking for a shirt that could protect me from the sun and keep me cool while hiking in the heat, this shirt did it all. It will definitely make it to the final pack for my thru hike of the JMT this summer. Some features I really loved were the double chest pockets on both sides, not only was there a button pocket on top but also a zipper pocket on the sides, lots of little storage options for phone, snacks, maps...etc. I also loved the ability to keep my sleeves rolled up by using the little tag and button system. Finally the double collar was clutch in the scorching sunlight, when you pop the collar there is another half sized collar hidden beneath to cover the last few centimeters of space on your neck, super clever design. When I got super sweaty this shirt would cool right down as soon as a light breeze hit it, so I never felt like I was suffocating while hiking all day in it.

Exceptional Shirt

Great material that resists wrinkles, dries quickly and is very comfortable to wear. And if the shirt does wrinkle (from sitting or driving, etc.), they will fall out. The vents are awesome as is the extra bit of collar that can be extended for extra sun protection to avoid leather neck :) This is a lightweight shirt that is a must have...

Lightweight and Durable

I'm surprised at how versatile this shirt is. It is light and breathable, yet it feels strong and resilient. I've worn it under a pack a handful of times now and there aren't any signs of wear. The triple flip collar works better than expected but doesn't replace a gaiter or wide brimmed hat. I chose the white because I thought it would be the least hot color and while that is probably true, it also looks strange in public so I'd recommend something more subtle. Also, if you unbutton the top button you might show chest hair like I do so keep that in mind if you are planning on hiking without an undershirt. Maybe you are more comfortable with that than I am though!

Mountain hardware

True to size unlike some of the other brands you sell. It’s better quality and I would love to see more of it in your store so I can purchase more.

Always my favorite hiking shirt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in SW Colorado, my wife and I do a lot of hiking in nearby canyon country. I bought a MH canyon shirt about 8 years ago, and it has always been my favorite. Before our recent trip to Utah, I ordered a new one and was pleasantly surprised to find that it has been much improved. It has 2 buttoned pockets, which include a zippered compartment on the side. The length is longer than my old one, which I like. The fabric is light, yet durable. The shirt is perfect for hiking in warm weather, but also looked great when we went out to dinner after our hikes. We liked it so much that my wife ordered one for herself.

Four Stars

I'm a big fan of the MHW brand. I have four of their ski and rain coats. Great cut, quality and value. This shirt, same thing. Fits just right for an xl, nice lightweight fabric. So what's the problem? Hard wrinkles. The kind of wrinkles that the shirt has out of the bag when it's new. After 3 washes, they don't go away. Finally steamed them out after my wife intervened, which got rid of them. Still a great shirt.
