Best Bag For International Travels
I've been international traveling for over 12 years now. I've always used great packs, but they were all top-loaders and anyone who has had to live out of their pack knows how frustrating this gets. I finally had enough, so I broke down and bought the far point 70. The biggest selling point for me was the detachable day bag. It perfectly fits a 13 macbook air, iPad mini, a book, pens, external hard drive, a few toiletries, and a light change of clothes, which is perfect for airports. The main bag is more than enough room for whatever length of time your trip is, and for whatever type of trip you're on. I just travelled to Greece to the Refugee camps so I brought some medical stuff, and still fit a 9 day load out of personal gear. (My rule of thumb is, any trip longer than a month just pack for 9 days, I go with 9 incase I blow through a few pairs of undies and pants from that street food I should've stayed away from. It happens people)

Not as good as the less expensive Gregory Packs
I've bought 3 large Gregory Travel Packs and they are wonderful. I also bought the Osprey Farpoint. The Gregory's are far better with an external bag, adjustable height shoulder straps, better pocket configuration and a better day pack than the Osprey. The only thing the Farpoint has over the Tetrad are the cushioned handles. Buy a comparable Gregory pack and save your money.

Great wearable luggage!

My Husband and I purchased this bag for a trip to Portugal so we didn't have to drag traditional wheeled luggage onto trains, busses and Metro. We made a great decision! It is light weight, roomy and has the features we wanted that made carrying comfortable. A bonus standard pack definitely came in handy. The Farpoint 70 is very durable, having survived multiple airline checked baggage stowage without tears or broken zippers. We highly recommend the Farpoint 70 Travel Pack!

Happy to have the extra room

I purchased this 70L bag for a trip overseas. I was not doing any day to day backpacking, but wanted the convenience of not 'driving' my luggage down the sidewalk in between stops. When purchasing this size bag the sales consultant was very honest in that it maybe to large for what I had planned. I was okay with the possible extra room, after all air doesn't weight to much. As it turned out I packed all I thought I would need (and a little extra) had plenty of space for my return trip with the souvenirs I picked up along the way. The Osprey was easy to pack, the top opens fully and allows easy access to the whole space. The day pack came in as a great extra. I used that every day and I walked around.

One of the best purchases I've ever made!

I went to Italy last August 2017 and this was by far the best thing I brought with me! I took it hiking in the alps Through the crowd streets of Florence On the trains and airports Through the 5 towns of Cinque Terrre Most important! Pisa was so crowded I couldn't find a cab to the train and ended up running/walking about a 3 miles to the train n I didn't miss my time Wooooohoooo! So comfortable to wear n carry very easy to get into as well Thank you THANK YOU for designing such an incredible bag!

awesome pack

I bought this pack specifically for a trip I'm taking in August but took it on a trial run for a trip in April and it's fantastic. It will carry everything I need and comfortable to carry. I bought this pack because I was going to be flying rather than backpacking so being able to secure the straps in their own compartment allows me to know they won't get caught up in the conveyor belts.

Wherever I goes, my Fairpoint pack goes.

I have a large red 70 Fairpoint luggage/pack. It’s perfect for one week traveling luggage. I’ve travel this red 70 Fairpoint in throughput the US and international (Colombia, Mexico, Cuba and on cruises). I’m looking forward to take its with me to Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and Australia. The best part of this pack; I was able to have it carry on in the plane with me to put it on overhead and my personal little pack under the seat in front of me. I love this pack/luggage.

Great travel companion

I bought this bag for a 10 day trip through Thailand and it did not disappoint. Easy to carry with a nice hip belt, large enough for all my stuff (including snorkel and mask) and some souvenirs and sturdy enough to survive ferry, plane and bus. While my daughter fiddled around with strings to attach the straps of her backpack in preparation for airline check in, I just zipped it up. Super handy. The detachable day pack comes in very handy but it is not in addition to the 70l but part of it, which leaves only 55l for the main pack. My son and I will go to Utah this Summer, just for fun I checked and I surprisingly was able to shove a 4-men tent, a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad into this bag with a bit of space to spare. I am not going to use it for this purpose (or am I?) but it does give you some idea what it can hold.

Well Designed and Sturdy Travel Pack

On my first trip in Europe with this travel pack as I write this review. I was planning to use it for travel on trains in Germany, however, COVID scuttle those plans. So, I have not really used the travel pack's backpack feature except for once. The design puts a majority of the weight of the backpack on your hips, where you want it, and not on your shoulders. The pack is well made and I really like the zip-off day pack that really has come in handy. The zippers, which usually are the first to go, are very sturdy and the day pack zipper clips to the main pack to ensure it doesn't come disconnected from the main pack, which is a nice feature. This 70-liter pack is also pretty roomy.

I love my backpack

I have owned this pack since 2015 (size small), have taken this on many trips including a year-long adventure from New Zealand to South America to USA to Sri Lanka and back to NZ. It has been on many buses, trains, ferries, airlines and still came unscathed. Very sturdy, easy to pack (with packing cells - I use 3 large Kathmandu ones) and comfy to carry. Surprisingly enough I hiked the W trail (4 day hike) in Torres Del Paine NP with this pack and it was very comfortable. Only complaint I have is that the small pack is too small to carry a small laptop and a DSLR and other bits and pieces you need to carry in your carry-on or as an overnight pack. I love it nevertheless !!!

BETWEEN INDONESIAN ISLANDS AND UP TO EVEREST BASE

I just returned from 8 months traveling through southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Nepal and this pack did it all. Between Island hopping through Indonesia or Trekking 18 days up to Everest base camp, this pack never failed me. The versatility of being able to fold up and conceal the shoulder straps in the back of the backpack was some of the cleanest design I've ever seen on a backpack. Super seamless and I could do in 15 seconds whenever I checked my bag at the airport. Turning it into a duffel also made it easier to stuff it in small spaces on buses or taxis. However the most surprising and stunning part of this pack was how well it transitioned from a duffel-like travel pack to a full fledged trekking pack. As we planned our 18 days in the Himalayas I was a little nervous about how my pack would fare as it had a duffel packing system which wasn't ideal for trekking. I was wrong! This pack was so comfortable and able to hold all my gear for our arduous trek up to base camp. The hip belts were fully padded and never failed me. The shoulders straps and suspension were just as good as any backpacking specific pack I've ever used. And at the end of the day I also had the ease-of-use of the wrap around zipper for unpacking. One downside was that there were no external water bottle holders so I did have to take off my pack to get my bottle. This could be rectified with a little water bottle attachment holder on one of the daisy chain loops. I didn't often zip the daypack to the outside of the backpack because it made it too heavy and would not sit evenly with both packs fully loaded. However the integrated strap and buckle system to attach the day pack to the backpack on the front, is the best feature of the entire system. I almost solely used this method of carrying the packs. It gave me access to all my common use items in my daypack and evened out the weight when walking. Overall couldn't be more happy with this pack and would specifically recommend it for travel.
