Mixed opinion

I had bought my first massage ball from this brand about 5 year ago, and never had a problem. It opened after a few year of using it for my upper back and shoulders and loved it. I decided to replace the old massage ball about 4 months ago and the 2 first layers came off after 1month of using it. So i don't know what to think, it went from a good product down to mediocre product. Is it a manufacturing issue? Ant57.

Does what deep tissue massage therapist did

I never take time to write these. Quick review I was having chronic low back tightness and pain. Went to get 2 massages - 2 nd therapist pressed hard on my glutes and pain went away. Bought this ball to roll out glutes and is so painful to do but it really helps. I just lay on ball for about 2-3 minutes each side and it releases the back pain along with 15-20 minutes of daily morning yoga / stretching. I really appreciate the effectiveness of this tool

Expensive for what it is

I received this as a gift, and while it is not bad, it is also not great. It does not have enough grip to stay in place when I am trying to target specific muscles. If I place it on the wall, to target specific back muscles, it just slides around the wall, staying in the same spot on my back. A racquetball or lacrosse ball would actually work better.

Great!

I use it for physical therapy and it’s comfortable and does what it’s supposed to do. I have also used it to target muscle groups that my foam roller can’t really work on effectively (like the periformis) and it’s lovely.

well made but a bit too small

This was well made and works ok, but I feel it is a bit too small. 20% bigger would be better. I'll keep it but I dont use it much due to the hard to use size.

Garbage — broke the first time I used it

I have used the TP Massage balls for years (the red cloth covered ones) and I love them — I have tried a number of other massage balls as well as a lacrosse ball and none get as deep or work as well. When this ball came out I was skeptical because it didn’t look like it would be hard enough, but I decided to try it because I have always been pleased with the products I’ve gotten from this company. What a waste of money — the first time I tried to roll out my piriformis the foam gave way leaving a very misshapen and useless ball. I don’t know why the company discontinued a ball that worked so well for this useless product. Unfortunately, I’m back to hunting for a massage ball that works. Out of all the massage balls I’ve tried in the last 15 years, this ball is hands down the absolute worst. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Love it!

I've been a Pilates Instructor for 7 years and was a professional dancer. I'm someone who needs deep tissue massage for achy muscles and knots. I love this ball, my clients love it and I definitely recommend it. The size is perfect for digging way deeper and getting into smaller areas such as the TFL. It is amazing for glutes and feet - well everything actually!

Not as good as original cloth version

I have owned the original kit with the cloth massage balls and footballer however after the balls disappeared at the gym I had to buy this new foam version. It died after a month as the foam softens it pulls away from the solid internal core. The solid core now rattles inside, so if you can get the cloth version definitely do that.
