Top Notch

I bought a previous model (PAG 240) when traveling in France in 2012, still have that watch now. The sensors are much more accurate, and the screen is very clean and easy to read. One thing I will mention- with the previous model- you select a city (for timezone) mine was NYC as its the only Eastern Time Zone. The watch would display the sunrise & sunset for New York. This model- after entering GPS coordinates, gives an accurate time for my location (same times displayed on my iPhone.) Other nice improvements are auto light function that can be turned on- so in low light conditions, if you rotate your wrist toward you- the watch face illuminates. These casio watches are rugged & just about bombproof. My old one has been abused, but shows no scratches or scuffs. I look forward to using this watch for years to come.

Easy set up functions are accurate

So far so good with the Casio pro trek3500-1 I'm an avid hiker and never had a watch like this one. Set up was easy and functions were accuratel. Seems to be holding up under my constant use. Good in all around conditions able to withstand the rigors of daily use. I double checked the accuracy of the altimeter, barometer as well as the compass and they were right on the money! As previously indicated set up was easy even for me as I'm no Techie by any stretch. The time is also extremely accurate within a few seconds and atomic signal is updated daily. Great for me right out of the box and looking forward to years of trouble-free service. I rated four stars only because I've had it for such a short time however I will revisit an add another star as long as things continue to go well. Bottom line great value for the price so many features lots of good reviews out there. I'm on board you should be too! Thanks.

To LCD or not to LCD, that is the question...

Auntie M, Auntie M... The sad sad tale of not owning ruby slippers. Picked up a new Pro Trek that read 'M' out of the box. What that means is anybody's guess, but guessing nothing useful. Could be near empty or near full, no way to tell. Still, liked the feature set, even if the LCD face is like 60s retro, reminiscent of the old Asteroids or Pacman games. All those shadowy "88:88"s underlying the display. Immediately set about charging to see how long it'd take to get to 'H,' which as far as I can tell means 'Hellen if I know.' With all the gadgetry and gizmos they jerry-rigged into this tech they couldn't put a string of code on board to let a body know the state of charge? Downright malicious. Anyway, charged it day and night inside and out under cloudy to partly cloudly skies and full spectrum lamps, and day after day it still read the dreaded 'M' - which am now certain is code for 'Maybe it is, maybe it isn't' charged. Then after more than a week finally got a bright sunny day. Set it out for better part of 6 or so hours and WHAM! the rays finally hit the mark like a steelhead and there was that long sought 'H.' And it only took a week. To charge. Seriously? A week?! Well, sez we, what do you expect from an LCD retro faced watch with a 1 year warranty? So that's the story. Sincerely, "Seriously thinking about a Citizen Eco-Drive"
