Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible snowshoes These are absolutely terrible snowshoes, barely a step above those you find in a department store. I took them out for a good trial beginner terrain with 6-18" of snow. Traction was sub-par with only minimal sticking power provided by the short teeth. Sliding sideways on even modest grades was a continual problem, as was sliding while descending straight down along the grade. The material quality is questionable at best and I believe these snowshoes would wear out in a season of moderate use. The mechanism that allows your heel to lift without the shoe does not feature an axle or any other sturdy feature, but rather a rubbery plastic strip that will definitely wear out quickly. Also, the telescoping poles do not stay collapsed. They may be a decent snowshoe for a true beginner who plans to hike on flat level ground with packed snow. In my opinion, they are completely unfit for every other activity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Insufficient flotation My weight 150; son's 290. But this snowshoe didn't sufficiently support either one of us. Both of us sank more than one foot deep in the snow and we weren't carrying any weight at all. Very disappointed.

Questions & Answers

Are there snow shoes that fit a men's size 14 boot?

Asked by: SilverSpring mom
Depending on the type of boot, these could work. A light hiker or less bulky size 14 can fit. If they are an insulated Sorel or Pac Boot, however, then they may not fit. An alternative option would be MSR Snowshoes because their binding can accommodate up to a size 15 men's shoe.

Is it possible to put extenders on these snowshoes to increase the weight capacity? I f so, do you sell them?

Asked by: thejones59
Atlas does not make an extender or tail for the Rendezvous 30 Snowshoes.
