Lightweight, stylis, sunprotectin
I bought the Belgian Poppy in small and it is true to size. I'm 5'2" 114 lbs and there is extra space across middle and arms are amply long for riding position. The material feels as soft as skin and is flattering. The pockets in back are somewhat hidden by the print so it is very attractive as well as functional. Even in heat index of 90-100 I wear this for sun protection and just wet the sleeves for evaporative cooling when I get hot. It is not hotter than my other jerseys. It dries quickly. Some days I just don't want to wear a jersey looking like a plastered billboard. This is feminine, light, and feels great.
Great cycling top
I ride my bike with a friend who has 2 of the Soleil tops and she highly recommended it. I was skeptical due to the light weight fabric. But it is much like the sun shade fabric on my arm covers, light and airy, but still quite warm. Since I ride my bike in San Diego sun most days the sun coverage is wonderful. I love it and will most likely buy another, if they make it in red.
love these jerseys
I just purchased my 3rd one! During this summer, I have exclusively worn these cycling because I really don't like baking my arms in the sun. They are cool even at 100F in Sacramento. After rotating between two, I wanted another option to wear. I normally wear a small but I like looser fitting tops so have gone up to the medium. I'm 5'3, 110lb, AA. Sleeves are a bit long but I just push them up. You can cut and sew them shorter as they are a basic hem. The material is smooth, soft and lightweight. I don't have a problem with "stink" as I wash it right after riding.
sizes are inconsistent
This is my third purchase of the Soleil bike tops because I love them! The silky, lightweight fabric feels good and keeps the sun off you while not burdening with weight or heat. But, as the third top purchased, I can tell you the size S is not the same on each color style. My two other tops are small and fit fine, but this blue leaf is way,way too small. Trying them on is the best bet. Buying online is risky. I have done both and the online purchase is too small. I would have bought a Medium of the leafy/blue pattern color had I bought it in-store
Sun protection and good for 60 degree days too
I love the flattering fit of this and the lightweight fabric. It's excellent on super hot, sunny rides--sweat doesn't stick and the sun doesn't bake you. I also wear this mountain biking on slightly cooler days, and there's the added benefit of less available skin for bugs to bike. I get compliments on it from other women riders, but my partner scoffs that the shirt is ridiculously feminine. He needs to change his idea of what a mountain biker looks like. I'm 5'11" with measurements 39", 30", 40" (size 10) and I like how the large fits--not skin tight, not baggy.
Mostly great.
I bought this top to reduce my sun exposure, and it's very good for that--lightweight and light colored. I'm 5'2", 112 pounds, so tried on a small, but ended up with a medium, as I don't like skin tight jerseys. The sleeves were too long, but I hemmed them up, so all in all, am happy with my purchase.
Recommend
Love this shirt. It fits more like a shirt than a Cycling jersey and I have gotten many compliments. I ordered an XL - I weight 160 and am top heavy and it fits loosely.
Love This Top!
I bought this top mainly for sun protection, but it's beautiful, stylish, comfortable and surprisingly cool to wear. I get a lot of compliments on it and it looks great enough to wear for more than cycling. I bought the silver lace pattern.
love for biking and just wearing
love this, ordering another one. Great for trail biking and just wearing around. For reference, (as I find this helpful when I try to figure out sizing) I am 5'8" 130 athlete build, long waist/arms so Medium was perfect.
Light enough for biking; nice enough for work
I bought the grey pattern with the white leaves and the blue and pink flowers. The fabric is soft and light but not sheer, and even though the garment fits on the slim side, it had a nice drape to it. A couple times I've biked to work and then worn the top at work all day - it works well under a light cardigan. I have two criticisms: first, the arms are narrow through the bicep - I popped a stitch taking it off, but fortunately the double-seaming held so it didn't rip. Second, this is probably not a multi-sport jersey - the fabric is so light and stretchy that the pockets will droop with anything too heavy in them when you're not on the bike. I tried to go for a run with my phone in the center pocket and the jersey stretched down to the top of my thighs and I could feel the phone flopping around against my (very) lower back.
