Slim
Being single, I figured I needed a new pair of dressy jeans. I've got two older pairs of Patagonia jeans (size 33) one fits a little big and one is just about right. I've been wearing size 32 Patagonia shorts and pants recently (specifically the Quandry series) and the 32 fits nice, it's also a slim fit. These pants are snug. I feel like a hipster. I'd be hard pressed to wear boxers under them. Having said that, they stretch really well (no problem doing a deep squat) and are light (for jeans) and they are a nice dark color. So if you're okay with the snug, they could be for you.
Slim jeans
These jeans are slimmer than other Patagonia slim fit pants I own (Quandary, Straight Fit All-Wear Jeans). But they're stretchy, so they move well and don't feel confining. I'm 5'10", 140 pounds. The 30 x 32 fits me well.
skinny jeans?
I just received these jeans. great price during the sale. they are beautifully made, nice materials, nice details. I want to like them, but they are borderline skinny jeans. I'm 6'1" 190lbs and have other 32" x 32" Patagonia pants that fit great. If you have bike/have thighs, they are a squeeze. I'm going to keep them and see how they stretch, since denim does that a bit. They do call them slim, but it was tighter than expected.
Great pants
Bought these because I like the company, but could never afford a lot of their clothes. These jeans retail for $119.00. I was able to pick them up on a big sale... I love them. My only regret, was not getting a second pair. I'll keep watching for another sale. The fit is great. I wear a size 36 sometimes a 38 depending on the cut. Prior reviews said they were tight or like skinny jeans. Well... for me that wasn't the case. The 38's fit great, but just a little loose after a days wear, definitely need a belt. the 36 would have been perfect. They fit true to size. The material will be great for hiking, hanging out or on a rock wall. I going to keep my eyes open for this again..
Check the size
I am 5'11" 175 pounds, and fit enough that I can finish Olympic triathlons so I am not 'overweight'. I ordered these in a 32-32 and they were skin tight and did NOT fit my waste (every other pair of pants I own is a 32" waste). I gave these to my rail-thin teenager son, who is 6'1" and ~150 and he wears a nearly impossible to find 29 inch waste in most of his jeans. These fit him very well, so they are his now. Material and workmanship are high quality but they are not for 52 year olds looking for comfortable loose fit jeans. If you can try these on first I'd recommmend that.
Buy These Jeans!
Here's the deal: I would rather wear these jeans than my sweatpants. They are super comfortable, not too tight, and not too lose. They feel amazing and look great. I wore them for like a week straight before taking them out. I've worn them around town and then also wore them out on NYE. They looked great and felt great!
way too tight
Returning these after ordering them. I have and had at least ten pairs of 30" waist Patagonia jeans over the years and they have fit perfectly. These jeans are more than skin tight. They are unwearable. The slim fit doesn't work for bike thighs and butt, at least for me. I imagine this super slim fit is why these are on sale everywhere.
Great fit.
I have been looking for slimmer fit jeans for awhile but they all seem to fit below the waist, I wanted jeans that fit on the waist. These were so perfect that, after the first two, I bought two more. They look great and are comfortable.

Great fit, very comfortable. Best jeans I have ever had. Thanks REI for the great sale price. My first pair are still in great shape after very frequent use.
Comfortable and fitting
Stretchy fabric makes those jeans very comfortable. It does not hurt that they're also good looking.
