Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs decent stakes Overall I like my Stormbreak 3 for its easy setup, nice breezy design, and sturdy construction. However, I can't give it five stars when it comes with poor, cheap stakes. A product of this caliber (and price) should include accessories of equal quality. The metal L stakes included with the tent are difficult to use in rocky areas, easily bent, and readily turn in the ground when tugged by the wind so that the short part of the L faces the tent and the tent and/or fly pops off the stake, even when the stake is pounded completely into the ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what we needed This tent was exactly what we were looking for. Large enough for two people and a dog, very easy to set up, compact and light in weight, and reasonably priced. So far we have used it twice and have absolutely no complaints. Very satisfied with our purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tent I've ever had!!!!! Camped in it twice and both times were during very heavy rain and wind and stayed perfectly dry with little to no condensation! You do get a bit of water drip in when you enter or exit but a small towel in the doorway fixes that easily. I definitely recommend you spend the extra $45 for the footprint because if you stake it out first it helps you set the tent up solo with no issues in minutes. Also the rain fly color is far less offensive in person lol. More of a pleasant gold color rather than crazy yellow

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this tent! I love this tent! This is one of the cheapest TNF 3-person tents, and does not lack in quality. This tent was purchased specifically for 3 season backpacking and it has been put to work plenty this season without a hitch. The footprint is an extra $45 and the square gear loft another $20. I also replaced the stakes with DAC, as I don't have much faith in the ones it came with. All in all, it was still cheaper than others in its class and just as good if not better. There is plenty of space to move around and has lots of pockets for storage (I recommend you shell out the extra $ for the gear loft for even more storage). Plenty of mesh for ventilation but not so much that it feels like you're sleeping in a bug screen. I'm not a huge fan of mostly mesh tents. The rain fly straps on with Velcro for added security. I love how the footprint, tent body and rain fly have color coded corners making set up a breeze. There are two doors and two vestibules. We can fit 2 packs, 2 pairs of boots and miscellaneous items under one vestibule, making the other a dedicated, unobstructed entry way. It hasn't undergone harsh wind so I can't comment on its stability, but once staked down and all is secured in place, it feels pretty bomb proof. It did rain heavily one evening yet all was dry. No issues with condensation either. It is rated for 3 people, but is comfortably used by two people and one pug (the 2 person was too small). I would not recommend this as a 3 person, unless you are all intimate and don't mind sleeping next to feet. Its hefty at 6lbs but divide that weight with your partner and it's fine. Included are 8 (cheap) stakes, but there are 14 stake points (not 16 as one reviewer stated). As aforementioned, I replaced those with two packs of DACs (16 total) and keep the two extra as backup. This is a great option for those of you looking for a reasonably priced quality backpacking or small car camping tent. I highly recommend it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent! I just got back from my first camping trip with this tent. It was a breeze to set up. Took maybe 5 minutes tops and was a very intuitive setup. I'm sure next time I use it I will be able to save off some more time on the setup. The design of how the ends of the poles connect to the tent is excellent. The rain fly requires no additional poles and make the tent look very sharp. I really enjoyed the dual vestibules. It was great to leave our boots and other gear out of the elements. It rained the first night camping and both our gear in the vestibules and us in the tend stayed dry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected from NF As a long time NF product user, my idea of NF was 'reliable, sturdy, up to expectation w the NF label'. However with this tent and service w/ NF, my perception has totally changed. I am returning the tent since it feels so unsturdy, meaning the arched poles wobble a great deal, even after completion of setup. There is no satisfaction of stability. The small, undersize tent stakes would never hold a tent in any ground if even a puff of wind stirred it. One missing stability reinforcement is the absence of any attachment of the Rain Fly to the roof frame allowing any movement of wind to quickly wear holes in the rain fly where the 2 shorter poles extend. There is NO rain fly stability from the roof at all. Quality is completely absent in this tent. Replacing my tent that was under warranty, I found NF to be an unreliable company - not the one I've used for so long. Something has changed for the worse within NF.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Tent for an Awesome Price! This tent works great, looks great, super easy to set up and best of all, it doesn't break the bank! It comfortably sleeps me, my wife and our dog (the two was a little too cramped for us). It's a little heavy for a backpacking tent, but if you have someone to share the load with its fine. We took it on a weekender not too long ago and it was the gem of the summit - the belle of the ball. Awesome tent for an awesome price!

What are the floor dimensions of this tent? Most of the 2 person tents are in the 84"x54" range. I'm curious how much (if any) larger this three person tent is.

Asked by: John-ILM
The specs above say the floor is 88 x 65 inches.

The specs say 3 poles but from the pics I see 4. Is there 3 or 4 poles?

Asked by: Ocho
Tent has two main poles, and two short poles that hold the top four corners of the body and fly out to create more headroom.

What are the pole heights when broken down and what size pack does this tent fit in?

Asked by: agame47
Fully collapsed, the poles measure 22 inches in length. This tent can fit inside most 60 to 85 liter packs. The tent can also be lashed to the outside of a backpack to save room.

Does this tent come with interior mesh (media) pockets? Also, is there a gear loft? Or hooks for a mesh gear loft? Just looking for what this tent has to offer in terms of storage for smaller items. Thanks!

Asked by: Gwendy02
The Stormbreak 3 comes with two large mesh internal storage pockets. A gear loft is not included but can be purchased separately from the manufacturer. The tent has attachment points intended for a gear loft if one is purchased at a later date.
