Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes at an affordable price I bought these shoes for my spin class and it was the first pair of biking shoes that I have ever had. They are comfortable and so far, they have been perfect for my use...three times a week in spin class. I tried on a number of shoes and had the good fortune to have a staff person who is/was a very active biker and knowledgeable about the types of attributes I should look for. Very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clip in and still be able to walk around town Once I finally got up the guts to start clipping in on my road bike, I always wanted to be clipped in. Which presented a dilemma when I was riding my bike to go somewhere rather than just riding. Wear awkward, uncomfortable bike shoes to walk around, or be forced to carry a change of shoes in my bag? So I started looking at shoes that would allow me to clip in but also be suitable for civilian wear. These shoes fit the bill for me. I was already using the Shimano Click'r pedals and cleats, so I figured they would work well with that, and they do. No problems clipping in and out. For longer rides, I still prefer my traditional bike shoes, but I've worn these for 20 mile plus rides. They have elastic bands to contain the laces so they don't get tangled in your chain. As for walking around in them, they're certainly not as comfortable as regular sneakers. They're bike shoes, with more stiffness. I wouldn't wear them to go for a long walk, but for walking around shorter distances, they're fine. I wore them all day at a music festival last summer and my feet weren't sore afterwards. They are a little hotter than regular sneakers as well, so be aware if you're wearing them in hot weather. The styling is pretty neutral. There's a slight "orthopedic shoe" vibe with the black color and the shape, but it's not a shoe I'm embarrassed to wear around. All in all, these shoes do what I need them to do, and I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Great Spin Shoes Bought this for spin class to replace my old road shoes that were hard to walk in. Thought with all the mesh they would be fairly cool, but are actually warmer then my road shoes, my feet are so hot after class! Also, I realize they are "casual" bike shoes, but the sole is not very stiff. Does make them easier to walk in though. I would give them a 3.5. They are comfy and good for wide feet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable I have wide feet and bunions. As a result I was having terrible foot pain when ever I biked more than 35 miles. These shoes relieved the problem. I just wish there was a small loop in the tongues to pass the laces through to hold the tongues in place. They tend to slide over. I'm going to see if a shoe repair can fix this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bike shoes...love the comfort and the color I have to say I love everything from REI. Great fit, very comfy, best of all....on SALE! I wanted something that functioned as a bike shoe, but didn't look like the typical bike shoe. These look more like a great pair of running shoes. Felt great the first time I put them on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for cycling. At best this product is for the gym and maybe spin class. The heel pulls off when actually on a bicycle. There is also a lot of flex. Laces are also a poor design for a cycling shoe. I purchased this to be a casual riding shoe, but this is quite functionless.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable. Affordable. Breathable. I have a slightly wide foot; a high arch and a high instep. These were very comfortable and seem to be pretty breathable. The sole is not super rigid, so they are fairly comfortable to walk around in...not that I would use them as walking shoes.

My shoes don't clip well into the bikes at spin class. Do the clips wear out after time? Do you have replacement clips?

Asked by: Jessica
Over time, the cleats can wear out. Replacement 2-hole cleats can be found in the following link: https://www.rei.com/c/cycling-shoe-cleats

With Shimano multidirectional click ins installed they click on the floor when walking around. How can I make these more recessed so I don't have this issue?

Asked by: Chaumania
It is common that the cleats click on the ground, even when they are recessed. There is no fix for this as there is no way to make the cleats more recessed into the shoe.

I wear a woman 7 1/2, and I have a wide foot.  39 be a good fit?  I'm not interested in clipping in at this time, just riding.

Asked by: Djrgirl
We recommend ordering a 39, however, these shoes do not come in wide sizes.

Would these work for indoor spin bikes that use shoe cages? I'm currently just wearing my regular nikes (the are mesh and have a spongy bottom) and my feet tend to hurt really bad after about 20 mins.

Asked by: morg435
Yes, you can use these shoes with toe clips.

I wear a size 8.5 or 9 women's shoe. I bought a 41 in these shoes according to the chart and there is a thumb width from the end of my toe to the end of the shoe, but they just feel big around my foot. What would be a better size?

Asked by: VickiC
Depending on how large they are on your foot, we recommend sizing down to a 40 or a 39.
