Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective, but flimsy, too clingy and over priced. Pros: It works! I camped out during some very humid weather and I liked how it kept me dry at night. Cons: It is so flimsy that it is difficult to get this liner into the sleeping bag. And it clings to you so even if you try to use your feet to push it into the sleeping bag, it starts stretching instead of moving into the bag. It is a mess. Once you have it placed inside the bag if you get out during the night for a nature call, it slides out with you due to its clinginess. Bummer, because it takes a lot of work to get it back into the bag again. Especially in the dark. It is really hard to feel where the opening is and you have to turn on your lights to go find the opening and then go through the process of getting it back into the sleeping bag. I think the solution is to take it to a tailor to get something similar to piping sewn onto the edges so that there is enough stiffness to manipulate the liner into the sleeping bag. I have not done that yet, but I think it may make it more practical. The extra material is going to add weight to it and make it less compressible, but as it is now, it is more of a pain than it is worth. Speaking of worth… it is not worth the price. CoolMax material is not that expensive and charging close to $60.00 for this is not sensical. I was expecting more for that amount. Would I recommend it to a friend? Eh, not as it is currently designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for International Travel in hostels I bought two of these for my wife and I for a trip to Tanzania. We thought it would be nice to have when staying in hostels. They worked great and we discovered how these liners even slip over a pillow and stays in place. We stayed comfortable in them despite no air conditioning and temps of 90 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bug Free I bought this for the OSHKOSH AIR SHOW camping next to airplane. Worked great as a blanket at first, as the night cooled off, I covered with sleeping bag. Perfect! Keeps the inside of sleeping bag clean? Not 1 mosquito bite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CoolMax Adaptor Traveller Sleeping Bag Liner I use this product as a travel sheet. Nice and roomy, soft and comfortable. Can't say for sure that it keeps the bugs away, but I'm hopeful.

Questions & Answers

What are the main differences between this product and the "Sea to Summit Insect Shield CoolMax Adaptor Liner - Mummy"? Which is better for an extended trip in warm, wet weather? (Specifically India during monsoon season)

Asked by: Sierra
This is a rectangular shape while the mummy liner is a mummy shape. The difference in shape also leads to a difference in dimensions and weight.

OK, Cool! But what about those bed bugs? Any protection for those? Is there a treatment in the material?

Asked by: ojaitc
Accoridng to the FDA, Insect Shield protects against some bed bugs. Because there are many forms of bed bugs, Insect Shield will not protect against all forms of bed bugs or insects. We do sell additional protection from bed bugs in the form of a spray formula which is a non-toxic, water-based formula that is safe for bedding, children and pets.
