Great except for the seams

I bought this product for a backpacking trip for three weeks through Southeast Asia and it was perfect for keeping me cool and protected during times of heat without air conditioning. When there is air conditioning, great for keeping me feeling comfortable when using questionable sheets. The only downside is about halfway through the trip a hole appeared in one of the seams. It's straightforward to mend but seeing the review before this one it seems that the seams may be the weakest partner of this product and something to really watch out for. Other than that though, one of the best purchases I made for a backpacking trip in Southeast Asia.

Poor quailty

I bought this product to use as a liner in not-so-clean hostels and hotels, with the added bonus that I could later use it on camping trips. While I like the design and the packability, and the liner bag has kept me moderately warmer, the quality is very poor. The silk is chintzy, and with light, indoor use, the bag shows wear/stress holes. More irritatingly, the seam around the foot of the bag has fallen apart. In the 6 months that I've had the bag, I've had to mend and re-sew the entire seam, and now it's ripping out all over again.

expensive but worth it for protecting a nice bag

I upgraded from a decade of synthetic bag use to finally getting a good down bag. A major selling point on the down bag for me was that I wanted something that would last for a long time. I could compress the heck out of it over and over again and I could expect years of use. From reading I picked up on the fact that dirt and oil get into the bag and into the down fibers reducing loft (ie, reducing warmth) and require the bag to get cleaned which reduces the life a bit too. As such, I wanted a liner. I got this one because silk feels good and doesn't pile up. I can run my jagged calloused hands across it and it doesn't bind or get nicked up. I also sleep like a crazy person, thrashing around a lot, so I wanted something that I wouldn't get tangled up in. It's about the size of a softball and packs up just fine in the supplied stuff sack. The only other thing I'd recommend is trying to remember which side is "out" so that you don't (on a multi-night trip) expose the dirty side to the inside of your bag because you set it up inside out, which is easy to do. I wrote "OUT" in marker on mine which reads backwards if it's inside out. Mine is green with black panels.

Exactly what I was looking for

I am 5'11 and 185lbs and I had a ton of room in this thing. It fit perfectly inside my mummy sleeping bag, hood and all. This is a great product to add a little warmth and extend the life of a sleeping bag. The ripstop silk has held up great after multiple uses. I love it so much that I bought my g/f one and she loves it too. It is a little pricey, but wait for membership days and use that 20% coup!

Prefect

This is great to add a little bit of extra warmth, on its own for really hot nights, or just to keep your your dirtbag feet off of your sleeping bag/pad especially if you use a quilt. I'm a small person, but was still worried about it being too mummy like and narrow but it's actually quite large and legs me sprawl or cozy up with it, fabric is soft and the stretch panel on the sides is nice if you roll around in your sleep.

Great feel and nice and light

This came with it's own stuff sack but using it inside my sleeping bag I will more then likely keep it inside the sleeping bag during my through hike. This is one less stuff sack and when I put my sleeping bag in a water proof stuff sack it will protect both items. It's got a great feel to it and a good length. Can't wait to try it on the next through hike.
