Keeps Water Cold
This is just the right size for holding in your hand and taking a drink without being too heavy. Water stays cold for an hour or two if you add ice to the water. I almost bought the more expensive 4X colder version until I noticed that bottle also holds 21 ounces despite it being taller. This bottle is adequate in hot weather as the water is all gone in an hour. The new top is more ergonomic than the older one. Just bought it on sale despite it being sold out in the store; it shipped to the store for pick up in just a few days.
The best I ever had
I have used many different type of drinking bottles and this is the best I ever had. It will not leak. It has a close and an open indicator. The only time I use the lock position is when I'm storing it. During my ride, it would be in the open position and it will not leak unless I squeeze. I love this bottle. Once you use this you will never go to another type.
Best I've used so far
I stopped by my favorite store (REI) just to browse the new Scott Bike lineup, and remembered I needed a new bottle. Got this one (very reasonable price!), and love it. Water stays cold, and I don't have to use my teeth to open/close the cap! Looks great on my bike as well. (And quite durable) Thanks again REI!
Worth It
Love, love, love this water bottle. I, personally, have never experienced any of the issues that some of the other users have with the cap. No signs of mold, no tinge, nothing, and, I've had this water bottle for about a year now. I love the pliability of it, and the added feature of locking the top so no water can escape is excellent and very useful. This water bottle comes with me to soccer, volleyball, on runs, and on road trips. It's been kicked and thrown around, and yet still looks the same as the day I bought it, and works the same too. It's a very durable, comfortable water bottle, and I highly recommend it.
Easy flow
I've tried many water bottles but never drank from them with such ease as with this CamelBak bottle. The spot is twist open instead of the pull out type. The water flows out easily with a simple squeeze. A satisfying drink with every squeeze. It is also vented so that you don't have to wait for the bottle to retract back to shape. Easy to clean too.
MOLD IN SILICONE CAP
My hole families is using this bottles and especial my kids. Recently I discovered some mold in one of the caps. I am very picky in cleaning those caps, but the mold sits between the outer and inner body of the cap and there is no chance of cleaning. I contacted camelback and there wasn't even an answer. I spend a lot of money and they don't care they my kids drink s..t! The best thing is, you can't by a replacement cap anywhere.
Great flowing bottle, one minor quibble
I bought a similar, but non-insulated bottle for my bike earlier and loved the nozzle so much I had to buy this one when I found it on sale. I wanted to try the insulated one because, even though it's February, it's frickin 80 degrees out here these days. Back to the bottle. I love the great flow out of these nozzles. Lots of water in a short squeeze and no leaks. With it set to closed, you can be sure nothing will come out. Even with it open I haven't had anything come out unless I squeeze which the pull nozzles can't claim. Cleaning is pretty easy and thorough without removing the nozzle but you can remove it relatively easily if you want to make sure you get every nook and cranny. I haven't had the bottle long so I can't comment yet on durability of the material used but that brings me to my one, minor quibble. The insulation material is opaque so there is no easy way to tell visually what the water level is in the bottle. I have another bottle that is opaque that has a narrow strip of transparent material running up the length of the bottle that lets you see the water. I wish the had a similar feature but it is possible this would compromise the insulation feature. I leave this up to Camelback to decide but this not a reason for me not to buy the bottle
Love these
This is a replacement for my older Podium Chill bottles. Love that the water doesn't spill out when on the bike or even when the bottle is upside down. Does keep the water cool a bit longer
Great bottle for any use...
I have used this on bike rides, at baseball practices, and random events. It is easily cleaned and keeps water cold for hours if you put ice in it. I really like this water bottle!
Good for hiking and biking
The Camelbak is a good product for hiking (I have the side belt) or biking because it fits beverage racks perfectly. The only drawback is that you cannot completely empty the bottle because of the "nozzle" design - when you turn the bottle straight up to empty, you cannot get the last swig of beverage because it is in the cap below the nozzle. It's only about 25-30 ml but it's another swallow on a hot day. You have to take the lid off to get that last little bit. It's a minor thing but I've wished more than once for that last swallow.
