Arc'teryx  Beta SL Rain Pants - Men's Short

I ordered this pants on 22th Nov,2020.After first time wear in heavy rain in May.The position of articulated knees get wet. I think it may not suitable for heavy rain.But today I try it in a light rain about 50km/hr speed.The front of thigh part fabric get wet again.This is very annoying to me.I don't know what wrong with this new pants. I was 6'1" tall crotch to floor 85cm,weight 77kg wear MT fit perfectly.If attach waist adjustment hook and pull down side zipper slightly around 20cm,you could still take out something form your inside pants' pocket that very useful to me.

Fantastic pant. A little on the warm side so I just bought the Gamma AR pant because its breathable so I will keep these in the pack if I get cold or wet.

These are a very high quality, light and durable pair of pants worth the money. I originally got these as an basic rain pant, but have used them for extended periods in harsh conditions. They are waterproof, light, and pack easily. I personally like the draw string waist style, as it can fit around other clothing should you be layering without making it uncomforable. They slip on and off without any issues. They also have adjustable features at the bottoms around the boots to keep mud from going up into the legs. I used them with a pair of wicking leggings for about 5 days straight of rain/mud and snow. very comfortable, windproof, and durable. I sat on rocks, mud, trees, etc for extended periods without any issues. I personally feel they would be fine in very harsh conditions, but am aware Arcteryx has other pants with more features for that lifestyle, and am sure they work even better. Only drawback if I had one is there arent any pockets to stash gear. Not a deal breaker by any means.

I'd been power-scrubbing new exposed aggregate concrete wearing 30-year old rain pants. Every afternoon the socks inside my rubber boots were soggy with water from back-spray going through those pants and wicking down my jeans. I debated spending $200 for a pair of rain pants and almost didn't, but I'm sure glad I did. When I quit now my jeans, socks and the insides of my boots are completely dry. I'm looking forward to our next hike on a northwest Washington beach with these jewels in my kitbag.

I bought the Beta SL Pant as an emergency pant for getting caught in the rain while cycling to/from work. Mine are roughly five seasons old and still function well. I would recommend this pant to anyone looking for a spare/emergency pant. The fit is loose enough such that the pant can be put on over road bike shoes without having to remove the shoes. When rolled up and put in a pack, the volumetric weight is minor. Physical weight of the pant is light enough to justify keeping the pant in my pack on a full time basis. I have also used the Beta SL pant for hiking and camping with no issues. The run relaxed fit to accommodate modest layering and in my opinion quick deployment if needed.

Purchased these for a 30 hour Adventure Race, as a back-up but ended up wearing them. They were very light in my pack, for the race, and provided good wind and water protection, as I wore them on the Mtn Bike Ride and Paddle sections at night (3 degree temperatures) where I was dry from the splashing from the paddling. (it never rained during the race) I like the waist fit, but the legs are bigger through the thighs and calves than I had expected. I was able to tightened the ankle draw strings and the clip for the laces kept the pants in place when we hit some open dirt roads on the bikes.

Alright, here is a secret. The description for these pants say they are for an emergency. Other reviewers will say they get a bit warm and clammy. Those things are both true if you use them for hiking. However, these are AWESOME snowboarding pants when paired with a base layer. They keep you warm and you really don't need anything else. There are no buckles or straps at the waist to annoy you or dig while riding. They are so light and so tuff that it feels like you are snowboarding in your underwear. Seriously, pair these with a Beta AR jacket and you have the perfect shells for snowboarding!

These trousers are amazing, as long as you don't have to wear them. The build quality is incredible, the design is clever. You will not get wet in these trousers. But you will get blisters. They fit atrociously for any serious movement. There is no stretch, which makes the fit crucial. Unfortunately, there's a real lack of fabric around the crotch, which leads to the trousers being pulled tight across your quads whenever you take a step. Wearing them for 3 hours whilst walking produced impressive sores. Such a shame to see a spectacularly engineered product let down by poor ergonomics.

Bought these pants to always have in my bag when I'm biking and hiking. Love the waterproofness of these pants and when I have them in my bag I don't even notice it. They compact to such a small size that I can have Atom Lt and Beta Ar and I will barely feel it. Loving it!

Together with the Alpha AR a perfect combination for rainy conditions. Easy to carry, easy putting on. Light weight and comfortable wearing. Gives me a save feeling under the most harsh conditions, snow, heavy rain, hail etc. Most important, no sweating.
